  1. Course he did šŸ‘ (my late night brain).
  2. If it was Premiership/Premier League games only then Hughton doesn’t count, and Benitez, Kinnear and Allardyce never even had one full season.

    Dan Burn

Fuck me, this thread is doing my head in. Get over yourselves. Burn would/should give you a slap if you came out with anything disrespectful towards him for making perfectly reasonable comments about the Voldemort issue. He knows him was/is a friend. That trumps anything the black hearted one has done (he is, obvs, no friend of mine).
  4. There was a slightly jarring comment from him a couple of weeks ago, something about being more appreciated when he’s gone, which made me think it might be on his radar.
  5. I get that, thanks for flagging-up. Only read his autobiography this year, great read.
  6. Well you can stick your jewel right-up your crown, naysayer.
  7. What’s this based on? Howe is second only to Keegan in terms of overall league performances (using points per game). Robson third. Appreciate Howe doesn’t have the highest finishing position, but technically Dalglish has a second to his name. Howe also is in a class of his own when it comes to cups.
  8. He was fine. Couple of half chances he could have done better with. But good movement, great touch, very quick thinker re spotting and executing lay-offs and passes in build-up.
  9. The German attacking set-up was very static and predicable, there were five of them in a straight line across the Slovakian box on a number of occasions. Don’t know what they were trying to do, but evidently part of the tactical set-up. Big Nick will benefit, and no doubt revel in, the fluidity and speed of our attack/possession play.
  10. Where have we heard that before… wait until the bullet header in the FA Cup final šŸ˜‰
  11. That Saudi-based Slovakian defender mustn’t be getting out in the sun much; looks like a Trainspotting extra.
  12. Beautiful dummy! (Wish he had smashed it)
  13. We’ve all had those supermarket trips! When I saw him I was surprised how young he looked/seemed (I mean I know he is, relatively speaking) they all seem older when on TV.
  14. There are tickets on Football.net (shameless…) but I am just going to fork out for TNT for a few months and save myself a few hundred quid. Not the same but at least I’ll get to see all of our games (plus any others which I can get away with!).
  15. Yep, not that I am optimistic but saw the 1997 Barca home game (missed the 2003) and would love to see us play them again.
  16. Missed out on ballot for Barcelona tickets. Gutted. Even the hospitality tickets are sold out—well there are 8 tickets left in Rooftops at Ā£1,062 a pop if you’re interested… .
  17. Voldemort There’s nee meat on him Canny feet on him Head echoes with only his goal Heart as black as North Sea coal
  18. Another ballot (Barca), another failure. Anyone else in the šŸ’Æ% club!
  19. He was for me the epitome of 100% player. Maximum effort and incredible ā€˜football brain’. When we first signed him I went along to see him turn out for the reserves (and partially to see what Leazes Level 7 was like). Viewing his passing from that height, in a pretty empty stadium, was truly incredible. Don’t know how he even saw some of the long passing options let alone had the technical skill to execute them; truly a different class. I’ve no memory of who we were playing, who else was on the pitch, or whether we won, but I will always remember that first impression. Just beautiful football from a much underestimated master of the game.
  20. Ah yes, Kelleher Ā£12.5m (rising to Ā£18m) to Brentford. Plus Tyler Morton Ā£15m (17 year old winger, to Lyon) and Nathaniel Phillips (a 28 year old CB I’ve never heard of) Ā£3m to WBA. So that’s about Ā£197 accounted for.
  21. Favourite players 11: Pav Nol Solano* Albert Schar Robbie Elliot Speed Bruno Ginola Pedro Sir Les Subs: Bracewell Venison Clark Robert Roeder MCreery Lee * my MVP award still goes to Nobby. It is quite hard to do this, but all of the above are players I have really enjoyed watching (for various reasons) and really wanted the best for. Some randoms who didn’t play that much like Helder, Roy Aitken and Woodgate came to mind too.
  22. As far as I could see: Diaz £65.5m Nunez £46.2m Quansah £30m Eliot was a loan Doak £25m So £167m (which to be fair is good money!). Guess the difference is in odds and sods or the way they have included add on fees in the overall amount.
  23. Liverpool’s Ā£228m outgoings surprised me.
