  1. Tenuous… but an rumour nonetheless; alternative Wilson replacement? “Goal.com has indicated that Newcastle United may be interested in acquiring Inter's 20-year-old Italian striker, Francesco Pio Esposito. The potential for Newcastle to make a bid for Esposito is contingent upon Alexander Isak's possible departure to Liverpool. The Merseyside club is said to be intensifying efforts to secure Isak with a substantial £130 million offer, following an earlier £110 million bid that was turned down this summer. Should Isak's transfer to Liverpool come to fruition, Newcastle might consider utilizing the funds to pursue Esposito, given Inter's previous rejection of a €45 million offer for the player. Esposito's contract with Inter extends until June 2030, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €25 million.” Also: https://sportwitness.co.uk/newcastle-united-make-attempt-for-young-striker-situation-could-be-linked-to-fulham/
  2. Any rumours? No. As you were.
  3. We should call him Jinky Jay. If he earns prime icon status.
  4. I’d be delighted with that. Watkins could have an immense season in our set-up. Ran us ragged last season. Still rather have Osimhen though 😂 Turks only paid £65m for him they might be tempted by a 40% flip profit (£91m—doubt he would though…).
  5. Cheers Dad 👍 (From the coolest of cool: A Guy Called Gerald. Your name’s not ‘Ray’ by any chance?)
  6. Great drill! Coaches are so creative these days.
  7. Given they’ve just paid £65m for him we’ll have another £60 too please. Or just give them £90m and recoup the Isak ‘investment’ next summer.
  8. Must be something like Jazzy Jacob, because his middle name is Matthew! Maybe he just doesn’t listen/pass so it is more like: “Jay… JAY!”
  9. Like the hold-up play highlighted, good at dropping deep to pull defenders away and leave space for fast forwards/midfielders to exploit. We have a few of those!
  10. Any Polish 🇵🇱 mags on here? Going to be in Krakow on Monday but so need to watch this match!
  11. Hope you hoyed the bite on 😉
  12. I’m actually quite concerned at what might happen in town. Bank holiday, gobby away fans who will be here on the piss all day, 8pm kick off. Home fans (and general population of non-match-going radgies) feeling a sense of injustice, betrayal and rejection—all of which tends to come out as rage—real tinder-box situation.
  13. Take your point, but we have tried and failed to sign at least three adequate replacements plus still haven’t replaced Wilson. Selling him without having two in place would be even sillier. Can you really see a player at the peak of his career refusing to play for a year? Would be the epitome of ‘Before you start on a journey of revenge, dig two graves’.
  14. Gameweek 2 West Ham 1-3 Chelsea Man City 3-2 Spurs Bournemouth 2-0 Wolves Brentford 0-2 Villa Burnley 1-0 Sunderland Arsenal 2-0 Leeds Palace 1-2 Forest Everton 1-0 Brighton Fulham 1-2 Man United Newcastle 3-2 Liverpool
  15. Hope this story doesn’t end with us and Sweaty Betty behind the sewerage farm.
  16. Smokescreen? Get in before sell Watkins?
  17. I thought somebody posted a list after the first games and Gordon, Osula and Elanga were amongst the fastest? Found it:
  18. 🎵 We signed him in a fever, hotter than a Simla phall. Now we really want Jackson, ever since Isak’s fire went out. Give it to Jackson, he doesn’t mess around, Yeah, give it to Jackson, Look out Jackson’s in town. 🎵 His response: 🎵 When I breezed into that city, I made people stoop and bow. (Hah!) All them fans went and made me, teach 'em football like they didn’t know how! I’m Nicolas Jackson, I don’t mess around. I’m Nicolas Jackson, no.9 for the town!🎵 (Yes. It seems this summer has indeed driven me to this.)
  19. We’d need to pokerface the fuck out of him. It’s a hell of a cut your nose off move to opt out of one of your 12 or so peak years on the big stage. And for what it is worth, the old kingdom of Bernica (North of river Tees up through Northumberland) was never taken/settled by the Vikings, in the way the rest of the old Kingdom of Northumbria was. Take note, Alex my boy, we have a long history of standing firm against Scandi-tyranny.
  20. Probably a promise that we would release him next summer from his terrible fate of getting rich, famous, and being (once) adored by a passionate fan base, might be enough.
