  1. Errr well by business sense I mean holding all objectives in mind. Ambitions this season, growth for the future, balancing the books by making use of unforeseen (or engineered/encouraged if required) opportunities, and manager preferences. Trying always to maintain the optimal balance between competing demands. Keeping the public all ‘stakeholders’ informed and relatively happy in the process. This might involve risking a step backwards today to go three forward tomorrow. So I think we are kind of saying the same thing.
  2. He’s called Alfie… maybe secret step brother ?‍♂️
  3. That’s about size of it, D. There’s plenty of sentiment in the club, but we will be canny in the Scottish sense going forward. It might just make too much business sense to turn down.
  4. Is it about profit, on a player? Or the (one piece of the jigsaw) financial flexibility the sale offers? Genuine question.
  5. Or selling Kieran to buy… answer may justify action.
  6. Three Gateshead Stadiums, or one Heworth?
  7. Like Palmer (hopefully…) as he is miles away from securing a first team slot. The generation of kids two years younger than him were truly exceptional. Playing a year and still slaughtering most teams. City still brought in a number of overseas kids at aged 12.
  8. Got a phenomenal goal and assist record (admittedly for the u18s…)
  9. Might it not help them out of the financial pit they are in? Or do you reckon that the books this season/year might not be taken into account?
  10. Thought they paid £25m? (Nottinghamshire Live) but guess that could have been just the up front fee.
  11. ‘option’ to buy apparently.
  12. I reckon £35-40m might do it. Is that eye-watering?
  13. Just been reading a Nottinghamshire based take on Gibbs White transfer. Apparently he is out injured (abdominal; sustained in training) so reckon it is probably nailed on; clearly one for us! It also said that the initial fee for him was £25m. Thought it was more, but maybe additional stuff added on.
  14. Could well have been. Whichever game I heard was the one with the chopper. (Just checked, must have been Liverpool as it was dark plus fireworks ?)
  15. Well that was worth seeing!
  16. I know what you mean, but mate! Not your usual eloquent self.
  17. Not many players come out on top over Bruno, but I agree I think he did. There was also a game against Chelsea, don’t think it was the last one though can’t recall, when Gallagher got the better of the (relatively few to be fair) one on ones.
  18. Let go of the narrative, man. We want the right players regardless of nationality and cost, if affordable. The house praises the builder. And we’re trying to build a magnificent magpie mansion.
  19. Just as well. Another sick note for Leicester and Spurs.
  20. Re the likely fee, for comparison Ashley Cole went to Roma on a free aged 33 in summer 2014. He’d cost Chelsea over 7 million in 2006. Couldn’t have been many more expensive defenders back then.
  21. He’s only strained his mind.
  22. Was hoping to see Manquillos run for the free kick.
  23. I’ll miss this lad, should this come to pass. Delighted he got to star in a local derby before leaving if he does go. Many more important contributions, but that will be my most vivid memory of him. Relentless pursuit of the ball. He’ll similarly destroy many Saudi defences, entertaining many and earning shitloads. We’ll see him back in the future, like a modern day Nobby (maybe even speaking fecking English!).
  24. Current. All our current attackers.
  25. I know all three (well, 4 with Jam) rumoured exits could just be noise. But it might be that several ‘ducks are in a row’ (or maybe several rows…) and we need exits to start the process. Things can go wrong, but nobody will be leaving without perceived to be better/more important arrivals.
