Would love a trip to Bruges! ( though would probably only have a chance of a ticket in the away end).

Perhaps get the marketing department to do something about becoming a legend and already naming a street after him in Gateshead (…just don’t show him the street!).
-
He’s 29 but had a good season last year, playing at a high level. More a one on three at international level (Haarland pretty much 1 in 1) and most of international goals against the ‘lesser’ nations but did score against Italy. Got to be worth a punt in the ‘new Wilson’ role.

Dodgy it may be, but true nonetheless. As good in the air as Sir Les, as sharp around the box as Blackburn era Shearer. Fires in from angles like van Basten. Would love to see him in the PL; with us obvs. And I have a long history of such idolisation, on limited ‘exposure’, spent years pretending to be Paulo Rossi after one good World Cup 😉

Personally, I only consider goals SteV. Lots and lots of glorious net busting goals. Joking aside, Osimhen (admittedly never seen live and mainly highlights rather than full games) is the best out and out striker I have seen since prime Shearer. I’d happily splurge everything we can get for Isak on him (assuming he would come and isn’t an absolute arsehole).

I feel like his comments after last season (sorry can’t find them) were along the lines that he feels he owes us, is happy here, and has no intention of going anywhere else. However, that may well be a one more season commitment (maybe dependent upon our performances/how wasted he feels). If he keeps up this level of form there will surely be many suitors.

Top twenty strikers in the world (apparently…) 1. Erling Haarland (too Norwegian) 2. Harry Kane (too old) 3. Robert Lewandowski (as above) 4. Alexander Isak (too painful…) 5. Ousmane Dembele (MLF) 6. Kylian Mbappe (Loves SJP) 7. Victor Osimhen (Yes please) 8. Julian Alvarez (we missed the boat) 9. Viktor Gyokeres (never mind) 10. Lautaro Martinez (Yes please) 11. Omar Marmoush (Manced-up) 12. Ollie Watkins (Yes please) 13. Kai Havertz (unlucky for some) 14. Serhou Guirassy (Yes please) 15. Benjamin Sesko (tried and failed) 16. Hugo Ekitike (As above) 17. Cristiano Ronaldo (Saudi gift?) 18. Marcus Thuram (Bob Hope…) 19. Yoane Wissa (Trying…) 20. Dominic Solanke (£55m last year) https://www.sportbible.com/football/football-news/top-20-strikers-ranked-haaland-kane-isak-gyokeres-352821-20250729 Sell number 4 (£150m). Buy number 7 (for £90m Galatasaray can flip him for a 40% profit) and no. 19 (for £45m) £15m towards another player. How hard can it be??

‘Why always me?’

Let’s be careful out there.

No mate, reckon we need two. Get yourself to ‘Le Vele di Scampia’ flats and see if you can track down Ciro (an Immortal fox in the box type) and Gennaro (big lad, good at the back post). Cheers 👍
-
They paid £52m for him in 2023. He’s made 38 PL appearances (admittedly 27 of them last season). How much would they want??

Let’s get the Wissa twins 👍👍 double trouble!

Anyone else’s email from club: “…hear from Eddie Howe after opening day draw” with no content?

Wasn’t sure that it was as ‘on’ as a number of people have said. Haven’t watched it back mind, but thought the defender had done well to get far enough back to cut out that option. edit: thought I’d have another look. Not necessarily an easier pass than shot 🤷♂️

Could be a reverse Jon Dahl Tomasson. Young Dane, (Tomasson was 21ish when he came to us) supposedly the best finisher at our club (in training with some tough opposition!) couldn’t do it on the pitch/break through. Though only had 23 appearances to be fair (3 goals). Went on to win the UEFA Cup, Champions League, Serie A, and other leagues/cups. Scored 55 in 122 for Feyenoord, 52 in 112 for Denmark and generally looked a very accomplished striker.

There’s something quite appealing about picking up a player from the septic six (a Jackson or a Højlund) and turning them into a master of their trade/position. Rather have a ready made one obvs!
