Cruel to omit Kuol.

Went stay, as 65k seems reasonable. Not averse to a move though dependent what and where. A new Spurs jobby on the Arena site could be amazing.

? it has been a lifelong quest. I’ll keep trying ?

Doubt Murphy will go. Having reliable versatile players who are willing to, in the main, be on the bench is really important. Add to this Murphy’s positive role in the squad and he’s the next Matt R.

Didn’t watch the game but here’s the tale of the tape… . Doesn’t read like a game were you were clearly the best side. Looks like a cracking cup though. Even had an underdog victory.

FAC QF: Manchester City 2-0 Newcastle United (16/03/24) | Reaction: pg 34

Two great posts. Coaching and tactics, structure and style, if they are fit for purpose, create a solid foundation. If wrong, in general or for the opposition on the day, make a positive outcome harder. What really makes the difference between having a steady season and being an exceptional team, between competing and winning, is having high quality players who can in themselves change a game. Who can do the seemingly impossible at times. We, many of us anyway, have experienced the wonder of this with Keegan’s strengths of building the self-belief and bringing out the best in great players coupled with a ‘go out and chuck a few grenades’ style of coaching. The latter wasn’t a firm foundation for winning. -

Cov SF, revenge against Manure in final! -
Well there’s the second most remarkable result of the day ?

Get the fuck in!!!

What a bloody shame for Cov. Coulda/shoulda been two up which may have been enough. Still recall that Houchen header in their final win.

He’s been great. Club captain too, I think. Was (one of the few) disappointed we missed our chance to get him.

Talk Sport (I know…) said that the reason Tino wasn’t picked for England (either squad) was due to fitness/injury. So, and let’s face it, it wouldn’t be a surprise this season, if he’s out or not risked from the start then Murphy as wing back would be the call. -
Just watched Eddie’s prematch interview. He is such a good leader and man. Does look like he’s feeling the pressure a bit though. Find myself wanting a good performance for him more than for myself. Odd but true ?♂️

Only seen us win away, in person, to them once. ‘Twas unexpected then too and a cup game. That’s it. It’s all I’ve got. https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/9540480/man-city-0-2-newcastle -
This is such good news! Yes, I do mean that he’s not crocked! Joking (ish) aside, I am so chuffed for him to get a full international call-up. He has been phenomenal for us and has such a great attitude. Hope he runs riot in training and gets on the pitch against Bru-zil.

I thought this fitted best here. Comparison of all our Premier League/Premiership managers performance. League games only and at least one whole season's worth of games in charge. Ranked best to worst in terms of points per game (PPG).
-
Thought I would compare our 'struggling' leader, with all our managers (total games equivalent to at least one season) in PL era. There's some real hardship there.
-
Updated. Our best five managerial records in PL era. Might also be useful to remember that Bobby finished: 13th (1999-00, 32 games), 11th (2000-01), 4th (2001-02), 3rd (2002-03), 5th (2003-04). He was sacked 4 games into 2004-05. We finished 14th that year.

I’ve been trying to curb my use of expletives. So, here’s an alternate way of expressing my first thoughts at reading your two related posts. I do not respect your point of view on this. You are disregarding perfectly valid points and seemingly expecting your preferred kind of head coach to have the supernatural powers to predict future ‘table-topping’ non-availability of players and bend financial restrictions on your preferred club. (Self-reflection: not sure I am into it. First thoughts were far more punchy and satisfying ?♂️).
-
Well this is a disappointing read. Hold your nerve. Keep the toys in the prams. If Gordon and Barnes aren’t available we’ll struggle in the remaining games. If one or both are an option we should have a decent points return from the remaining games.
