I think Romano was right and now the delay is on our end. Waiting to see the extent of Wilson’s issue.
  2. Any team is only a few injuries away from being a total disaster. We’re the same, perhaps a little more acute in that striker position but overall I think we’re ok at this point. If the window closed I’d still have us down for a top half of table finish, even with a few injuries along the way. A few reinforcements and I think we have a chance of top 6 this year but also important to remember it’s a marathon not a sprint.
  3. We’re not approaching this window with an air of desperation like we did in certain aspects last January. Chris Wood and Matt Targett wouldn’t have been long term targets, we just lucked out on the latter being a great fit. Wood contributed as well so not gonna slag him off, the fee was mental though but then at the same time, it’s good value when you see the knock on effect he had. See, we had a squad that started suffering ptsd as soon as they had control of the ball, all they were used to was lumping it forward and it coming right back at them. Chris Wood made a difference in that suddenly the ball wasn’t coming back immediately, it helped the midfield regain some confidence in pushing forward and eventually we started playing some decent football towards end of season. For example, if we’d bought Joao Pedro in THAT team last January, those things mentioned above may not have happened and we could be having a very different conversation about the future of the club right now.
  4. Paqueta will happen. We’re waiting because they are desperate for the cash to balance their books. It has to happen before the deadline for them, summer too late. They will accept a lower fee and we’ll have our primary target. I suspect the Maddison move was all a ruse to raise doubt. LP has been a primary target all summer.

Here’s a question, I’m aware of who Romano is only through his tweets. Whether he’s a tap in merchant or whatever or someone full of shit like Luke Edwards is irrelevant. If we only ever repost his tweets and never read any of his articles, how on earth do they generate income for him? Like what’s the point of it all?
  6. Players who have lots of injuries tend to be ultra sensitive to any little niggle or strain that other players might pay no attention to. Hopefully in this case, Wilson is being overly cautious and nothing shows up.
  7. Garth Crooks going on a rant about Trippier saying the red card should have stood? What the fuck is he smoking? Is he a City supporter? Saying he should have been sent off because the challenge was cynical.. eh I don’t think that’s mentioned in the rules..
  8. I agree, he did well tonight because Liverpool are basically a bunch of fast skilful dwarves up front. As soon as he plays against a forward with size he’ll struggle again. And as soon as Man Utd play Maguire again they’ll struggle.
  9. Liverpool panic bid for Chris Wood incoming
  10. That freeze frame on the VAR, he looked about 6” offside, how did they call that?
  11. Liverpool look half the side they were last season, something quite not right there. Indecisive on the ball, shaky at the back. Or maybe they just thought they only had to show up tonight. Man Utd been good but once they concede it will all fall apart.
  12. I love him ☺️ he didn’t have his best game either against City or Brighton yet he’s still one of the best players on the pitch, that’s a scary prospect. If we add some bite on the right side of midfield Bruno can be released for maximum effect.

That’s a good question actually, I think you can certainly pass most elements of it but others require physical effort and if a player say has a pulled hamstring, he’s hardly going to be on a bike or a treadmill, so I think it’s more complicated than saying yes. Another feature of a thorough medical is trying to pick up on any problems a player might have that’s not obvious at first glance.

    Nick Pope

His kicking certainly isn’t his strong suit, certainly clearing back passes. They kept going up high and not a lot of distance, it’s nothing putting on some leg muscle won’t sort out, he is quite thin after all. But his shot stopping and command of the box are excellent, if he had the other element to his game you’d be looking at a 50m+ keeper. Dubs won’t be playing much if Pope stays fit.
  15. That was excellent. We went toe to toe with a team that scares the shit out of everyone. We weren’t though. That’s down to our manager.
  16. It doesn’t matter who we play, a win will lead to a week of positivity and general mentally well balanced folk posting, a loss and everything will turn to shit, the transfer market will seem worse than it is, we’ll start singling out adequate players for not being up to it and petty squabbles will boil over, etc. Every. Single. Time ☺️
  17. I watched back the highlights of the 5-0, we were well below par and some shocking individual mistakes that day. Dubs made a howler, we had Lascelles at the back for the whole game. Trippier was totally lacking in fitness when he came on. Yet we still opened them up and should have scored.
  18. Wolves look shite but they could easily get something here. Spurs also nothing special but impressive they are picking up points when playing so poorly.
  19. She’s shown herself to be anything but what the Barclays legal team were trying to portray her as. As a face of the club, both she and Mehrdad are impeccable and they just get it, whatever it is.. but they just get it. In 30 years from now she will be regarded in the same light as KK and SBR in terms of lifting the club off its knees but in the here and now, we the supporters should show her every bit of appreciation and do anything we can to protect her from the horrible shit said online about her.
  20. We should have had a stone wall penalty off these last season, we got nothing and then they ran away with it. We’re due some luck (or is that the same thing as competent refereeing decisions?)
  21. Desperate times call for desperate prices which of course will set off a whole bunch of unreasonable shithousery with every club we try to deal with.

    Compares favourably..
  23. Things can always change but where I sit with it right now is that I really don’t believe the club will turn out to be a plaything for MBS, it’s going to be run well and built up and there will always be the potential that PIF could sell up for a massive bid at some point in the future. But yes, the alternative is a murky place.
