If he has any sort of niggle at all I’m all for rotating, Burn is excellent, as is Schär on his day. My intuition tells me though that when we eventually sign a top class right sided centre back, it will be both Burn and Schär making way. I also wonder how the overall side will shape up when everyone is back and fit.

Im not sure there’s going to be any teams that will have their shit together enough this season to expose them (aside from the CL), but I do agree they are far from perfect at the back. But overall it’s going to be a weird season, 2nd-4th place spots are there for the taking for anyone who can get a run going, including us when/if we have everyone available.

VAR should be run by a totally independent organisation that’s not linked to existing league referees. The issue is that they all have relationships, they look out for each other and although some are better than others, there’s often good ones covering for the terrible ones. I saw another clip of him just giving up on running back, like just looked really poor. It’s all well and good being able to hit a thundercunt of a goal but in this team you need to do all the other stuff primarily. For balance, I’ve seen Longstaff and Willock do exactly the same thing with tracking back a few times so maybe Howe can work with it and make him fitter.

Liverpool won’t panic when it comes to transfers. They’ve set up a great system where they identify a target and have it all set up and agreed well in advance when it comes to replacing players in certain positions. A couple of short term injuries won’t make them deviate from that.
