  1. Whitley mag

    In memoriam

Very important figure in the clubs history sad news.
  2. It must be galling for him to know that he brought in Salah, De Bruyne and Lukaku and basically Mourinho didn’t utilise any of them. I think this bloke with Howe could be a dream ticket with these backers.
  3. Oh boy just when I think i’ve come to terms with all this, a mackem goes and writes stuff like this. She’ll be tarred and feathered on RTG. “He is a great fit for what we are trying to build here. We are delighted to welcome Eddie and his staff to St James’ Park and very much look forward to working together towards our collective ambitions.” “Given that Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund are worth around £700bn and own 80% of Newcastle those ambitions are stratospheric but, before Europe can be conquered, relegation must be avoided.”
  4. Good article by Phil McNulty. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59172236
  5. Fair play to these mackems on RTG being so concerned with human rights in SA, the only problem is i’m struggling to believe they we’re really concerned at all prior to our takeover. When it had all gone tits up they we’re wanking themselves over our plight, now it’s all a little bit after the event for anyone to really buy. They really are struggling to come to terms with this, there attempts to create faux outrage, paint us blacker than black and position themselves as the club with morals is quite amusing. I think they’re still deep in the denial phase that this has actually happened, everyday they wake up and then the realisation hits them again. It’ll take time for them to accept this, but I think we can all enjoy this phase of their mental breakdown safe in the knowledge that it’s going to get much, much worse for them.
  6. I wouldn’t even worry about it, embrace how shit we are presently and accept it as part of the journey. If anything this should make us appreciate the good times even more when they arrive. If we we’re transferring from a decent mid table team to the all conquering club we will undoubtedly become it wouldn’t be half as much fun. Strap in it’s going to be exciting.
  7. Looks like the back page didn’t wait for the poor fucker after the game though.
  8. What a trip this lads had, different class these owners.
  9. Reminiscent of Solskjaer taking Rob Lee out all them years ago at OT to stop us winning. Nowt you can do though and it’s a big point for us. Gap down to 5 let’s hope Leicester do us a favour tomorrow. Still on course to be within at leat 6 points of safety come Jan at worst, which we’ll be able to turn around. I actually think it’ll be less, hopefully for once we get the new manager bounce at just the right time.
  10. Drink in Lewes it’s closer to ground and decent pubs.
  11. Some lines from BBC article earlier today about Emery, he was by no means a guaranteed success in my opinion - Some of the criticisms of his time in north London were a difficultly in communicating his message to his players and supporters and an inability to fix the club's defensive and mentality issues. Emery has enjoyed a significant amount of success in his career - winning promotion or a major trophy with five of his nine clubs (including a record four Europa Leagues). He has never finished in the bottom half of a table and has been out of work for less than a year in total since 2004. However, both his two sackings (Spartak Moscow and Arsenal) have come in two of his three jobs outside Spain. Villarreal have been one of the biggest spenders in La Liga since Emery arrived last season - and broke the club record with the £21m signing of Bournemouth's Arnaut Danjuma this summer. The feeling in Spain is that he should have been doing better with his squad - he has only won 17 of his 49 league games in charge and they are currently 13th, three points above the relegation zone.
  12. Great post. We’ve got the media desperate for this to go tits up, we should all be right behind the owners and backing them unconditionally at this point. They’re astute people who will get this right, just fucking enjoy being relevant again. The club was dead, but now we all care again which is the greatest gift possible after 14 years.
  13. Personally think he’s bottled it and isn’t the man for us. I’ve got no doubt he indicated he wanted to come, then on reflection has opted for the safe option. This is now the biggest project in football and if he’s comfortable with his lot he’s not the man for us.
  14. Has an excellent number 2 aswell who is very highly regarded in coaching circles. Out of the domestic candidates he’s the one I’d go for.
  15. Think he was previously set for a role with club but after takeover got delayed he became an agent. Possibly Phil Foden’s agent I believe ? I’ve read that he is advising consortium with McPartland.
  16. Don’t think so close to Benitez and now a football agent I believe.
  17. Frank McPartland and Owen Brown are advising them on football decisions, along with probably a good few other super agents hungry for a piece of the action. They’ll get there though, we should be all be behind them during this transition after 14 years of complete mismanagement.
  18. Good article from Douglas.
  19. Went down a storm in wonderbar at the weekend. All good fun nothing to get upset about.
  20. Even if Everton we’re considering Rafa’s position I couldn’t see them sacking him at the moment. They know fine well we would take him so why cough out to sack him, when they could receive millions instead. It would be like the situation when we hired Souness and Blackburn we’re on the brink of sacking the cunt, then along comes Freddie and gives them a lumper. It would certainly be a win for Everton if they are losing faith with Rafa.
  21. This is why I’m convinced they feel the need to create shitty little supporter clubs across the NE.
