  1. Anyone checked in on Exile today ?
  2. Be a bit annoying if the scousers get Fernandez been nice seeing their midfield declining. Of course if it meant we’re getting Bellingham then I can live with it.
  3. Looking at that list of capacity’s it’s clear standing still isn’t an option, but I think realistically 65k is about right going forward. Still think purpose built on Castle Leazes is the right option in terms of creating the right stadium though. I know folk are keen to stay at St James on here, but would you be happy with a mirror image of the Leazes stand at the Gallowgate end ? It would look great undoubtedly but at what cost to atmosphere ? The current Leazes stand is dead for creating noise and if that happened to the Gallowgate would same folk be happy with a redeveloped St James. It would also create new swathes of Level 7 seating which is undesirable to many. New stadium with great sight lines and acoustics for me all day, obviously still in striking distance of city centre though
  4. Whenever you talk to a MLF they nearly always have a season card, none of the plastic mags have even set foot in the landfill marra.
  5. If we’re still after a winger we should be all over the lad from Ajax looks tailor made for Premier League.
  6. A player who helps us into the CL would be my preference over a yank perma crock. There’s a wealth of wingers out there Mudryk, Diaby, Kudus to name a few who I’d want ahead of Pulisic. Not buying that where in for him as his injury record would be a major red flag, this incarnation of NUFC has no need to take gambles on so called top 4 rejects. I certainly don’t buy into the theory he’d be a good signing for commercial reasons, Howe and Ashton wouldn’t entertain it.
  7. Up the Shields Mags he’s one of our own !
  8. Fucking amazing seeing the club plastered over billboards in a major international capital city. The clubs always been the biggest sleeping giant in this country bar none, it always had the potential to be something special but this is on another level and the reason the rest of football are currently shitting themselves.
  9. Good to see the big boss mingling with Eddie and the lads.
  10. Nee Henry Cooper hire coaches for the lads over there.
  11. I know what you’re saying but let’s be honest I can only see the Saudi’s wanting any new stadium to be the best around. I think that’s what attracts me to the new stadium idea, you just know it would be fucking spectacular and probably make the Spurs stadium look ready for Beamish.
  12. I’ve got no doubt he genuinely meant what he said at the time, but massive caveat has to be how far had they looked into expansion at the time of quotes and have they even underestimated our potential support. Lets not forget who ultimately writes the cheques here, any redevelopment will have to offer value for money for PIF to sign off. If the bill is 300 million plus to add 6k seats do they see value. If they build a new stadium for 800 million with 18k extra seats, increased corporate and stadium naming rights (which would be bigger for a new stadium ), is this better value ? With the best will in the world circumstances change and the obstacles to expanding St James might not fully have been impacted at time of Mehrdad’s comments.
  13. I think you’re spot on, when all avenues are properly explored they’ll arrive at the only viable option being a new stadium. We’ll end up at Castle Leazes or just slightly further up Barrack Road, with the current site handed back as parkland and a big Wembley way leading through it from the city centre. It’ll be sold as creating jobs, current site not being viable, staying in city centre, crucial for growing club and class leading environmentally.
  14. Sore subject but aren’t Radisson building one of their top end hotels on the St James metro site ?
  15. Probably didn’t help either when the stupid cunts ripped off Ajax’s 3 little birds song. Bit like pretending to be half Irish when Keane/Drumaville came on the scene, then pretending to be loyalists when Tommy Robinson and Celtic come to town. They’ve got a massive identity crisis which comes with living in a hick town, forever overshadowed by it’s big city neighbours.

  17. It’s an ibis/Novotel but that image posted by Manorpark has subsequently been changed and the hotel will no longer be on front of the building. The old fire station being redeveloped by the Reuben’s will be the city centre’s first 5 star hotel. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/redrawn-48m-gateshead-quayside-hotel-25625324
  18. If we qualify for the Champions League it’ll ruffle some feathers alright. Liverpool miss out on top 4 and Eddie comes calling I’m sure he’d listen at least.
  19. More from Saudi Sports Minister’s interview with BBC, this is the best part- Little more than 12 months since their takeover, Newcastle are third in the Premier League table and unbeaten in all competitions since 31 August. The Magpies have spent more than £200m on players since the takeover, breaking their transfer record to sign Swedish striker Alexander Isak in the summer. "They've done an excellent job," added Prince Abdulaziz. "They still have a long way to go - they've brought the right people on board. "I'm sure they have targets to win the league and the Champions League and so on because they strive for the best and always bring the best on board, so I think it's going to be a bright future for Newcastle."
  20. Exactly man sourpuss, Neville, Keane the lot of them have some fucking nerve whilst they’re all coining it in out there.
  21. A combination of no guaranteed CL income due to increased competition and the yanks not getting there way over Super League have led to this. Let’s hope American venture capitalists secure the purchase of both clubs and they suffer many barren years in the future.
  22. Think a centre back will become a priority as Schar isn’t getting any younger. Plenty of great options to partner Botman with such as Badiashile, Lacroix, Tobido and Ndicka. Don’t think we’d go far wrong with any of them and they could all forge a formidable CB partnership with Botman for years to come.
  23. Undoubtedly the type of signing PIF would probably have been all over early doors. Luckily they’ve entrusted the club to very shrewd operators.
