  1. I always believed someone was due a big beating at St James’
  2. Where to play Maddison would be a very nice dilemma to have
  3. If they don’t suffer some sort of nervousness on the big stage, it’s going to be a great for them
  4. I don’t know who will pay the amount of money that would make him a worthwhile sale. You’d have to be looking at above £30m and I don’t see anyone paying that for him
  5. Forgot about those sales, but I very much it gets anywhere near that figure
  6. Who can we actually sell realistically that gets us any money - there’s nobody other than maybe Lascelles or Lewis who would get us a few million each
  7. I think that’s the main thing that’s changed about us as a side. We react well and won’t just accept a shite performance becoming the new standard. Spurs still have quality in their side, but if we don’t make any silly defensive mistakes that give them confidence, we’ll be way too much for them to handle
  8. I’m hoping it’s done before Chelsea away because even though they’re shite this season, when do we ever beat them away from home….. Going there needing to win would not be something I wanna put myself through! If we perform how we have been all season then, it will be done by then surely
  9. If there ever was a time to make changes to the back four then it would be now. But Eddie values consistency so I think he sticks with Burn for the weekend
  10. That’s the direction I think we’ll go. A Joao Pedro type player gives you the cover for Wilson and Isak and plays out wide - I don’t see why we won’t try again for him if Watford stay in the Championship. Whilst it would be great to go for a name like Diaby, I don’t think we’ll be able to spend money on a top quality wide player as well as a striker when we need a lot of other positions filled.
  11. Villa have got a great chance of getting right amongst the battle. I mean if they can beat Brentford before we play Spurs then they heap even more pressure on both of us
  12. Those percentages will drastically change if Spurs come away from St James’ with 3 points
  13. Even with our inability to cope with their power, pace and transition speed, it’s the first game of the season where we’ve been truly and comprehensively outclassed. This really reminds me of the second half at Spurs away last season. There we were completely overrun and showed no tactical awareness to change the outcome of the game. That’s the thing that bugs me the most, we continue to play the same way and leave the same open spaces without really making appropriate changes based on the opposition
  14. I’d definitely swap Burn for Targett. The threat is quick passing and movement on the outside and through balls in behind. I think more mobility will help us defend and attack
  15. Agree with this assessment as he hasn’t really shown any of the quality you’d be expecting from a £40m player. I’ve always thought that he didn’t have any clear qualities that could make him so expensive. I still think he needs to be given time, you can’t judge him on that shocking first half from the whole team
  16. Watkins is fantastic at getting to every ball first and putting his body in the way
  17. Looks a very good player every time I see him
  18. Ramsey’s pace and power also causing us a lot of problems and we haven’t worked out how to stop him yet
  19. I’m hoping we can match or better the result Spurs have this weekend so we can keep our 3 point lead before they come to St James’ Park. They have the easier game this weekend, but you just never know
  20. We wouldn’t have to buy any other central midfielders for quite a few years. Rice, Bruno, Willock, Joelinton and Longstaff all at a good age
  21. I actually think he’d want to join us given Eddie and the coaching team, the overall project and the prospect of Champions League football next season. I just don’t see us coming out on top in a bidding war though. It looks like Liverpool aren’t interested or want to spend the money on one player and Man City will be after Bellingham. Surely the likes of Man Utd and Arsenal wouldn’t want to risk losing out on him
  22. Think that ship has sailed. Rather we go for Joao Pedro instead anyways

    Anthony Gordon

We will be in Pot 4 and be one of the so called group games that is usually classed as the easy touch and the one everyone else looks to beat. We have no points in Europe so will be ranked at the bottom, but everyone will wanting to avoid us that’s for sure
