  1. I really don’t understand how they can look at that tackle and think it’s anything other than a dive by Nunez
  2. I’d have him here as a squad player for £10m or so
  3. Barca fans seem to think he’s been key for them this season
  4. I’d start him and leave Isak on the bench to either replace him or come on out wide if we need a bigger attacking threat. Can’t see see us playing anything other than the Willock and Joelinton left side combo if Longstaff is fit
  5. I don’t see us spending £70m+ on the guy as much as he fits in with our style of play.
  6. Thuram looks like he’d be perfect to play the Longstaff role
  7. They only thing that has me shaky is that Liverpool play another two games at home before we play again. I’d prefer that they don’t win them both so that there’s less pressure against Arsenal
  8. Liverpool can easily get more than we did last week
  9. I can’t believe how bad Spurs are
  10. As I said earlier in the first half, I thought he played well and could have easily had an assist or a goal to his name. He was actually our only threat in the first half. My opinion hasn’t changed since when we were first linked with him. He’s a solid addition to the team with potential to be a good Premier League player for many years. But he doesn’t look to have the qualities to become an elite player (I hope I’m proven wrong with a pre season under Eddie and the team). He’s also not helped by the transfer fee, but that’s an English league issue where it takes more money to buy decent players because most top flight clubs are financially secure and don’t need to sell. I mean the difference in quality from Isak compared to Gordon for what a £15m ish difference in price tag is quite stark - that’s not meant to be a dig at Gordon in any way.
  11. Southampton defend so badly. If you put any pressure on them they crumble, lose all shape and discipline. They’re down for sure
  12. You could see the goal or at least a great chance coming for them. They’ve been really quick on the break and have a lot of pace
  13. He’s actually been decent - making some really good runs. He’s just caught in two minds with what to do with all the space he’s had
  14. He’s vital to the movement and space being created on the right hand side with the triangle passages of play. It also means that we move Joelinton to the right and he’s been ineffective
  15. Fair point. I mean Lavia I have watched a lot and rate as someone to come in and improve the squad long-term. The the only players would be the full back at Napoli (Oliveira) and Diaby. Not really been scouting them in the way of the author has been when watching games involving the these two, but I’ve never been excited about them. Whatever happens, I back Eddie to improve who ever is brought in
  16. Good read, but I’m really not excited by many of the names mentioned
  17. They’ll probably buy him for £30m and sell him for £60m to Chelsea the season after
  18. I’ve been lucky enough to watch every game this season and we’ve been screwed over by VAR more than not. I mean you’d argue the Nick Pope incident against Wolves and the Burn shirt pull at the Emirates we got lucky, but there’s so many decisions that have been worse that didn’t go for us. Off the top of my head: Shirt pull on Longstaff against Wolves was a clear penalty Willock being penalised against Crystal Palace Joelinton handball against Southampton Disallowed goal for offside against Forest Schar being kicked in the head via Man Utd Wilson disallowed goal against Brentford Longstaff yesterday for the clear penalty Even the Schar goal being disallowed was wrong given the time after the offside There’s a lot more that I can’t seem to think of right now, but you get my point
  19. He really does add something unique to the team and is a great option in the squad. I doubt we spend a huge outlay on a new wide player when he’s still in the squad and we just signed Gordon for £40m. A Joao Pedro type player seems perfect for the numbers that we’ll need for next season

    Joe Willock

Agreed and that’s why Eddie always talks about elite players that are better than what we have. At the very least, we need some better cover in the midfield 3 given that the only option is Anderson and he’s better out wide
  21. I suspect we want a more attacking full back in, but I think we may put it on ice given the other priority areas and the spending restrictions. We have Kraft to come back in and just signed Ashby. Burn and Targett on the left side is fine for the way we play. Shifting Lewis and Manquillo will most likely happen which may change things
  22. Yeah I want a 3rd placed finish because we have clearly been the 3rd best team this season
  23. Almost a great goal there - come on let’s get 5!
