  1. It’s like someone asking me to pick my favourite child. Could’ve been any of about half a dozen, but I’ve voted for Trippier. Phenomenal player, ever present and the personification of what this team is about. He could’ve seen this as his last pay day and half arsed it, but he’s playing the best football of his career and setting standards so high for everyone else. I fucking adore the man.
  2. Never heard of them. He’s the Qatari Henry Mauriss.
  3. He’s a cardboard cutout for the Qatari state. They’ve plucked some random son of an ex-minister out of obscurity and given him £6bn to buy Man United on their behalf.
  4. Don’t rate Bamford at all. Had a single good season in the PL during his entire career.
  5. Glad it’s not just me. I’ll be a wreck on Monday.
  6. Everyone marvels at the amount of money Everton have wasted, but Spurs’ are just as bad. They’ve been carried by Kane and Son.
  7. Despite what I might have said in the past those Sob on the Tyne banners were really funny and Birmingham is not a shit tip.
  8. If Liverpool win tomorrow we’ll be talking each other off the ledge again.

    Miguel Almirón

He was having a good game anyway but went super saiyan when that daft cunt hit him in the face.
  10. Already convinced myself we’re going to fuck it up.
  11. Not suggesting that this is on my mind or anything, but I a dream we played them at Goodison Park for some reason and were 4-1 down at half time. Just had a second ruled out for offside before I woke up.
  12. Are 777 the hedge fund that have absolutely fucked Hertha into the ground? Edit: No, turns out they own them but their previous owner did the damage
  13. We haven’t collapsed like Leicester though, who we’re getting pumped off Steve Bruce’s Newcastle as they tumbled out of the top four. Our form has been good. It’s just that Liverpool are on an absolutely ridiculous run. One swallow doesn’t make a summer. A single season - and it likely would be because we have a lot of rebuilding to do before we could compete on two fronts - isn’t going to totally alter the equation when it comes to who we buy and how much we spend. The owners have been very careful and I would expect that to continue, to the point that if we do qualify I expect this place to be fucking unbearable during the window when we don’t completely overhaul the squad.
  14. People see CL qualification as being the catalyst for the owners going mental, but I don’t think summer will be drastically different whether we finish fourth or fifth. We’ll be able to attract a higher calibre player and the purse strings will be loosened a little, but FFP is going to dictate much of what we do. Leicester’s current plight is largely a result of them qualifying once, chasing the CL for a few seasons and being hobbled financially when they missed out. I desperately want us to be there, because the thought of Wor Flags flying as the CL theme plays gets me absolutely rock hard. I don’t think it’s going to define the next few years in any sort of meaningful way though.
  15. We know who’s finishing bottom of the 5-a-side league.
  16. Time for the N-O takeover Come on you whinging bastards. Get your names down.
  17. I’ve always thought Maddison was pretty good at defending from the front (no stats to back this up, just my perception from watching him play over the years). Leicester were never a super high intensity team, but it didn’t appear to me to be a glaring deficiency in his game. Certainly can’t remember him being particularly lazy. The problem with ‘pressing’ in the manner that we do or Liverpool did in previous years is that it’s predominantly a tactical issue. It lives and dies on how well it’s being done across an entire team. The issue at Leicester doesn’t appear to be individuals not pulling their weight, but a team that don’t appear to know what they’re doing.
  18. Another thing we’ve missed is his ability to find space and offer other players an easy ball to keep things moving. It’s most obvious at the moment with Bruno because he’s getting caught in possession, but earlier in the season he was absolutely pivotal to that little Trippier-Miggy overlap routine we had on the right that proved so fruitful. He was always available to play a little one touch pass to either of them so they could get on their bike.
  19. It felt like all of Newcastle was there. I was constantly bumping into people from my local or people who sat near me at the match.
  20. Leicester have been dreadful but Maddison patently hasn’t. In a team that’s second bottom of the league he’s got more goals and assists than anyone in our side apart from Wilson. Not sure what people are seeing that suggest he’s got a bad attitude, but they’d be nailed to the foot of the table without his contribution this season. He’d be an absolutely first rate signing.
