Time to look at alternatives, I’m afraid. £65m is seriously pushing it in terms of value and we can’t afford to keep pissfarting about waiting for Palace to leak their position through the Daily Mail.

Hair like a Squaresoft RPG character.
  3. I like it. As far as overpriced pieces of fabric that I won’t buy go it’s nice.

    Kieran Trippier

Tino was always going to start the season just due to match fitness, so I suppose it’s not that surprising of a comment. The rest of the comments are very Eddie-speak for “he’s off” though.
  5. I look forward to the next Silent Hill being set in Cruddas Park estate.

Speaking as one of the leading members of the Miggy hate brigade, I think everyone needs to calm the fuck down and trust the club on this one. We’ve an opportunity to sign one of the best young centre backs in the league who has just had a breakout performance at an international tournament. The club have - rightly IMO - decided to pull the trigger and get him, presumably because CB is more of an immediate issue due to injuries as well as the fact Guehi basically sorts our defence for the long term. If there was an opportunity to sign someone of equivalent pedigree on right wing I’m sure there’d be a discussion, but I very much get the impression we don’t see much we like right now given the lack of solid links. In that situation I’m not opposed to us keeping our powder dry if it gives us leeway to move for someone better in the later in this window or the next. All things considered I prefer a Sandro Tonali to a Sander Berge.

He’s trolling. Anyone who disagrees with me personally on any topic is a WUM. My opinions are so clear headed, well thought through and indisputably true that it’s the only explanation.

£40m would be even better. £130m on the other hand…

I don’t think it’s an either/or situation when it comes to centre back and right wing. I reckon the club are still expecting interest in Almiron, Wilson, Trippier, Longstaff etc but it’s been a really slow window. There comes a point when you’ve got to pull the trigger.

If it happens I’d yank my end off. Unfortunately it feels a bit like the sort of rumour that’ll bubble for a couple of days and then things will go deathly silent. If the narrative hasn’t moved beyond ‘in negotiations’ by Monday I reckon we can put a pin in it.

I’m happy to keep him. If there’s not a need to sell him for PSR purposes then I’m not sure why we’d get rid tbh. Most clubs would kill to have a pro like Trippier around the place, even if he’s increasingly going to have to play second fiddle to Tino.
  12. Imagine if we’d signed Sander Berge when we had the chance.

Well if you do spot anyone chatting shite let me know and I will knack them.

    St James' Park

Staying in the city centre is non-negotiable. I don’t care about the potential upside in terms of commercial revenue by moving to a plush new stadium. People don’t realise how brilliant our match day experience is compared to a lot of other clubs. I’ve watched a lot of football around the country and had to endure a lot of cramped bus journeys back from soulless, retail park bowls. It’s fucking miserable. I question the priorities of anyone who wants to destroy that. I’d leave millions on the table to preserve what we have. It’s one of the best things about following NUFC.
  15. It does, but only when we’re electing a new Pope.
  16. Her importance to getting the takeover done cannot be overstated. I hope the club make her life president, or there’s some gesture to recognise how pivotal her and Mehrdad have been.
  17. Explains why he fell off the bike.

Honestly man, some of our fans are hysterical cretins ‘Lack of communication’ just seems to be a catch all when people are vaguely disgruntled about something. I don’t think that the club are particularly uncommunicative. Far from it. Anyone going on about the stadium and training ground should be written off as a complete clown. These are capital projects that require vast amounts of planning. We know both of these things are being looked at. People need to accept this. The stuff around PIF’s interest (or lack of) just highlights that people do not understand why they bought us. We are an instrument of soft power for Saudi Arabia. Their day to day involvement will always be arms length, and we’ll always be just one among many. This is what we sold our soul to the devil for - to be part of a wider portfolio. As for PSR, if we get to January and we’re compliant then the club have pulled an absolute masterstroke. Overseeing huge investment in the first team - taking us from relegation fodder to CL contenders - during a period when commercials were being rebuilt and the squad was at its least saleable, and only losing two fringe players. That’s pretty good.
  20. Sounds like the perfect Dubravka replacement.
  21. I think it all depends on the year that’s dropping off.
  22. Not worth overthinking where he fits in the pecking order IMO. He’s the warm body we’ve undoubtedly had to accept to get the Anderson deal done. That’s basically it.
  23. Rate Anderson but £35m is a very, very good deal.
  24. Every transfer window we have posters booting off because we haven’t strengthened the squad enough, despite the fact we know these rules exist. This is not a place full of mentally sound individuals.
  25. Because of the rolling nature of PSR it’s both.
