  1. Ooof. I’m knicking this.
  2. They’ve been found out in a big way and Ange’s inflexibility is costing them.
  3. We’d have finished top 4 without Pope’s injury.

“Bringing up the floor” is such a big part of our progression over the next 18 months imo. We need to address squad depth.
  5. Pretty worthless as a comparison. In golf they were trying to set something up outside the existing structure so they could afford to brute force their way into the conversation and chuck money at the problem. It didn’t matter if they upset the PGA. When they bought us they were joining an existing institution, and they were hardly welcomed with open arms. What happens if PIF turn up and immediately start litigation against the league and its rules? They’ve no powerbase, no relationships, no credibility. They’d immediately be a pariah and the PL would almost certainly have found a problem with that separation between PIF and the Saudi state. City broke the rules when the rules were nothing more than abstract concepts jotted down on the back of a fag packet, and they’re of a stature now where they can afford to kick back. PIF were always going to play the long game, because eventually the league will either shoot itself in the foot (as it appears to have done with the related party stuff) or we’ll reach a point through sensible investment within the confines of the rules where our interests converge with that of the bigger clubs anyway.

On the one hand I don’t want him rushed back in case it reoccurs. On the other if he starts our last few games I’m certain we’re finishing in a European spot.
  7. Providing he lumped on against Burnley and not Brighton then we’re undefeated when we’re on Sandro’s accas.

    Administration by Christmas then.
  9. I hope he made a decent chunk back on his bets in that case.

Decent deal if it gets done. Brings the floor of the squad up and gives us PSR headroom. It gets the Christ seal of approval.

They’ve got to get them clicks somehow.

  14. It absolutely does my nips in. I appreciate its not his natural game but some of them aren’t even 50/50s. He could gently amble towards the ball and he’d get there before the striker but he’s stood on his goal line.
  15. Doesn’t command his area, doesn’t leave his six yard box, doesn’t communicate with the defenders. He can on occasion pull of a decent save but he’s so ill equipped for the game we want to play that he’ll lose us more points than he gains us. Need a new second choice asap.
  16. You wouldn’t expect many clubs to have much room for manoeuvre before 30 June. Man City is probably the only one, unless there’s some rapid player trading elsewhere.
  17. I don’t think we’ll budge. The money is kind of irrelevant really. It’s just as much about setting a precedent as it is coining it in.
  18. With his hamstrings that sounds like a risk.

I’m increasingly of the opinion that neither Bruno or Isak are going anywhere in the summer. Their contracts are long enough there’s little risk to their value. I reckon the club will want to give it one last heave and see what we can achieve in a season without a freak injury list before we do any trading.
  20. Fucking hell, I am sorry. Shall I go into exile?
  21. Celebrating that goal with a stranger next to me was the closest I ever came to having a homosexual experience. Never cuddled another man like it. I think about him all the time.
  22. Last thing I was told was that they want the ministry site in Longbenton for the new development and the existing training ground will be properly redeveloped too further down the line. The suggestion was they wanted to do a more sprawling, less insulated version of the Etihad Campus but working in partnership with the colleges and teams that have stuff around that area. Not sure what that would mean in practice. Possibly the club purchasing the land, maintaining it, allowing local teams to use it whenever the club don’t need it? No idea the veracity of this info like, even if I trust the person who told me and they could conceivably know. Do with it what you like.
