We were both absolutely shite but on a side note why was it only Man United who had injuries the other night? Our first choice goalkeeper, right back and centre half were all missing but all we kept hearing was how they had a few key players missing. Without looking I would say the team they put out still cost more than ours especially if you include wages.

You can criticise Eddie for some of the results this season but to go back and try and rewrite history after that cup final win is weird behaviour .

I keep saying this, for all it looks as though we wasted a big chunk of money we genuinely did try and sign elite players but they all went elsewhere for bigger wages. Other than spend nothing which would have left our fan base in hysterics I am not really sure what else we could have done.

Did as much as we could have second half without actually scoring , if we played like that most away games we wouldn't be struggling .

I don't care how many players they have out, our away form is so bad I don't see how anyone can be confident we win this game .

It's easy to see who knows ball and who has no idea. Those that still back Eddie after everything he has achieved here obviously get it. The rest who want him out after 3 bad months need to pick up another hobby .

Regardless of it was a penalty or not is irrelevant. We dominated the first half then fell to bits after that.

I think the opposite , fully expecting to win we always turn up for these sort of games at home and have a good home record against Chelsea who are nothing special at all.

It was two shite teams basically , hardly any football played at all. They got that bit of luck with a freak goal but if that hadn't happened it was 0-0 all day long.

Players will always go to whoever pays them the most . They say it's about ambition etc but we have lost out on players who would rather play for a non champions league club than us if it means more money .

Couldn't agree more with this , I hate them as much as anyone and if we get beat Sunday it will be awful but we have won a recent trophy are playing in the champions league again, beating us is as good as it gets for them .

Was absolutely awful first half but much better in the second, still don't think we should be sacrificing Barnes by playing Gordon in his preferred position .

He has always been a bit sloppy with the ball and prone to giving it away. It's his only weakness really but he does seem to be doing it a lot more at the minute which is why it's getting highlighted by so many people . Still think he's our best player and needs to be in the side especially away from home.

He's been absolutely shite since the cup final , loads of us last season kept saying he was injured for them last 10 games as he was so bad . If you go even deeper he had a 3 month spell last season December - March where he was class but either side of that he was poor. He got away with it to a certain extent playing for us but it's being highlighted every time he plays for Liverpool and it's absolutely brilliant to see . Eddie and the way we played made him look a lot better than he is but even then we would say he was anonymous in plenty of games . He will get better for Liverpool but he will never justify that transfer fee .

Best season they have had for about 20 years whilst we have been shite for the most part , yet here we are only one point behind them, levels .

Yeah he can get fucked crying on like that about being dropped for the cup final win . He would have played the cup final two years earlier when Pope was suspended if he hadn't been so desperate to leave and go sit on the bench for Man United .

They are basically us from a few years ago , limited technically but non stop running and fighting for everything . They obviously aren't as good as we were but that team we had that finished 4th would bully and outrun the one we have now easily, which is a worry for next weekend .

Similar to when we play Villa at home , I just always expect us to beat Spurs at home these days , they just absolutely hate coming here and we always seem to turn up for it .

Not even sure why people think is anything wrong with him really . He had a purple patch two seasons ago where he played really well especially at home when nobody really knew what he was about and he scored and made lots of goals . Since then he has shown his natural level which is what we have seen for the past 18 months . It's no coincidence his best games this season have been against Union SG and Benfica who were both absolutely terrible . He stands out in them some of games and looks average whenever we play a half decent team . Same for England , he looks good against all them crappy teams in the qualification games .

How on earth are we favourites for this game with the bookies
