Well if Isak goes for £150m then everyone will see that money, lick their lips and hike their prices accordingly. I think that’s all he means really.

Think it’s time for Howe to have a little one on one, explain he’s not leaving this summer but a gentleman’s agreement for next summer could be possible if he plays at 100%, and that rejoining the squad will be easier the sooner it’s done. Make himself available for Liverpool and life will be much easier. The writing has been on the wall since Ekitike went to Liverpool

Any of the other favourites for the Ballon d’Or or just this one?

Expect the nonsense to peak this week as it’s in Liverpool's interest to ensure he doesn’t play next week, could mean another comedy bid incoming. After they are done wrecking Newcastles start it probably gets resolved with him returning to the squad. Isak to be on the bench for Leeds match. Googled that Zlatan quote and the source appears to be Facebook, so looks fake. Also Zlatan won’t have a fucking clue what the league cup is called these days.

I love Burn and Schar but this is a game where I’d feel a lot happier with Botman and Thiaw handling their movement.

he could have had: Woodman krafth Schar Lascelles/FernandeZ ???(Clark?) longstaff Shelvey joelinton Murphy Wilson ASM Thats competitive side, under a different coach.

Hopefully he does well, as if there’s PSR headroom this season it might be worth at some point taking the hit and getting him off the books in June. e.g. by June next year he’ll be on the books at £12m, if there’s 10m headroom and he can be sold for £2m it’ll prevent the ongoing 4m a year hit.

This week is crunch time as it is one thing to miss friendlies, quite another to miss league games. At this point his agent should know if an acceptable bid (£150m) is going to be made, and if not he needs to get back to work and be available for selection. No one is actively trying to buy him at this point. ps Pards is a slimy twat, but that doesn’t mean he isnt funny.

I think in a lot of cases not enough work has been done with the agents. And yeah I know it’s stomach churning but that’s how it is. Build good relationships, pay them well and they will make sure their players want to come. If Isaks agent was in line to get a big bonus if he signs a new contract then am sure his agent would be driving him back to the training ground personally. Chelsea paid £60m to agents last year, and have zero problems getting deals done.

I don’t know much about him, but remember Burn, Lascelles and Schar all need replacing over the next 2 years, so there’ll need to be a new CB next summer too. Ideally the starting RCB joins this summer, but it’s not a disaster if Thiaw joins and ends up being 3rd in the pecking order - either for him as he will get games or for the club. Espically as Howe is not adverse to going 5 at the back

Well the club should do some due diligence with his agent before bidding, and not waste everyone’s times

Bobby Clark sacked the club off at the first opportunity, so I wouldn’t get misty eyed about him joining. If he’s good enough and at a good price fine, but let’s not pretend he has a history, or any loyalty to the club

Isak is an elite striker, to the extent he is worth £150m, he was not disconnected he was waiting for the right moment. He will probably go, which is a shame, but the best outcome is still to to keep him for one more year, and agree a release clause and new contract that is reasonable. If Liverpool don’t fork out soon then the club can still negotiate that outcome. Proven goalscorers don’t come up often. Of Pedro, Delap, Sesko and Etikite, probably only one ever hits Isaks level, at least one will be the next Hojlund or Nunez. Isak is the real deal. All that also means the price has to be a record. For me it’s £130m plus achievable add ons that take it up past £150m. But the club should be generous and look past the anger and emotion and see whether a deal for another season can be done. Thankfully Howe doesn’t spend all his time on Twitter so probably has a cooler head than many posters
