I think it's probably similar to the Bruno signing in that we suddenly became aware of a top player having an interest in coming, and it's to good to not try at this stage in our project. I don't think he's someone we would've been scouting extensively or anything. It just adds so much to the first xi, why wouldn't we want him.

Obviously. We have nothing to go off with Diaby, could be a complete flop for all we would know. At least with Maddison we can base it on what he's already done in the league. I'd love him to sign, really think it would accelerate everything.

The amount of goal contributions he could add to us would be massive and less of a risk than say a Diaby or a ST that ends up sat on the bench behind Wilson. Not a priority but to much of an improvement to pass up imo.
