  1. Am I imagining it or are we on a bit of a run of relegating teams? Ipswich last year I think we either relegated or as good as with goal difference considered, Sheffield United the season before, did the 0-0 against Leicester the year before that send them down or again all but confirm it? Oh for the halcyon days when I thought we might do it to the mackems in the rearranged fixture because we'd be in the Carabao Cup Final again this year
  2. I'm still convinced 99% of the faceless NUFC accounts on Twitter are Burnsie and his burners
  3. Love it when the rage/engagement baiters don't even bother to buy thenselves a blue tick as they're that insufferable even they realise themselves they'd make a loss
  4. Well, yeah, but there's playing the cunt with the players and falling out with them all and there's playing the cunt as in being the human embodiment of Real Madrid, which is probably in the job description anyway and I agree he is perfectly suited for
  5. Can only presume Real Madrid are going to ask him to be an Ancelotti-type coach at this point and let the petulant fuckers on the pitch just do their job given that the real thing isn't available. RM have previous for veering from a control freak to a "player's coach" so could be box office if Mourinho goes in and starts playing the cunt
  6. Bobby Madley as the fourth aswell, watch Kavanagh tear his hamstring at the end of the first half so we get a double dose
  7. Ridiculous, everyone knows it's the magic sponge for ACLs
  8. This is one of life's great mysteries. Whenever you hear people who were teammates with him talk about him it's glowing, almost universally about how much of a great bloke he is and someone you'd want next to you in a fight. You must be joking!
  9. This is usually an infuriating game because we tend to play into Brighton's hands. Like us, they're highly susceptible to counterattacks and are fairly predictable with the ball, but also have the ability to transition quickly and dangerously and break on the opposition themselves. In theory, the play is to let them have the ball, keep them in front of us, and play on the counter. But they'll be thinking the same and will actually set up like that, and we'll fall for it again. Debatable how effective we could be playing that way mind, seeing how tragic Wissa and Elanga have been, but it's playing that way and their ability to hurt teams quickly that are their biggest strengths. We almost certainly won't do this, but I'd be looking at something like: Pope; Miley, Thiaw, Burn, Hall; Bruno, Tonali, Joelinton; Gordon, Wissa, Elanga - if Gordon isn't fit, Wissa left and Osula up top. Osula instead of Elanga is also an acceptable option.
  10. The wife tried getting me to watch this on Netflix purely on the basis that "it's about football I thought you'd be interested" 😅

They play Curacao in their first game, with Wirtz, Gnabry and Musiala playing close to him he should have the Golden Boot stitched up by full time
  18. I fancy us to win at Forest and beat West Ham at home
  19. Will be an honour to watch the cart horse Lewis Dunk rampage through the area where our midfield once stood with no fucker getting anywhere near him before he plays in Minteh to score
  20. Same, I've taken this thread as looking at who we've signed in the last 4.5 years in general and just spitballing really. Not as a "let's judge Howe's record in the transfer market" discussion, as none of us know for sure who has had what influence etc so I don't believe @Heron has set it up as a leading question either, but some seem to have interpreted it as being a referendum on whether Howe should be in charge of transfers anyway
  21. Went for 51-75% for signings and 75%+ on money spent, although the latter is an assumption rather than having actually done the sums, and I didn't factor in Targett's wages either. Stuff like this is always a bit "well what does success look like?" for me, same as when people describe a player as "world class" but don't have a definition beyond the impact of the words. E.g. For me, Vlachodimos has been a successful signing. As much as Anderson leaving irritates us, getting that deal done meant we avoided a points deduction in a season where we ultimately qualified for the Champions League. And yes it was only 45 minutes at home to Wimbledon and he had next to fuck all to do, but he had an active contribution in the run that culminated in the best day many of us have had supporting this club, and what may for many of us be the best day we'll ever have supporting this club. Being there and doing a job when we needed him is a lot more than you can say for a lot of the people, players and otherwise, that have been involved with our club down the years. There's a good argument that along with the rest of last season's squad and the staff he's among the most positively consequential people in our recent history.
  22. I've settled on a position of thinking we should make a change, but I'm not going to "turn" in the ground as such and if he stays on then next season is a clean slate as far as I'm concerned and let's see what happens. If the club backs him in the summer and then gets rid in September or October if we have a shaky start though, then whoever is making those decisions at the club can get to absolute fuck.

    Lewis Hall

Hall has looked knackered for a while and hasn't been at his usual levels probably since the Barcelona games, albeit his bar has been that high this season that when he's not so good it sticks out like a sore thumb as he's often been head and shoulders our best player, sometimes even when he's not had a great game himself
  24. Camden Wetherspoons for the first pint of the day, howay the fucking lads!
  25. About fucking time they've been on the end of one of these
