Vagner Love is vastly over rated imo.

So is Alves tbh.

Yeah, totally.

Only the 45 goals in 40 matches for Heerenveen.  Shameful.

Eredivisie Top Scorers

1995-96  Luc Nilis 21 PSV Eindhoven

1996-97  Luc Nilis 21 PSV Eindhoven

1997-98  Nikos Machlas 34 Vitesse Arnhem

1998-99  Ruud van Nistelrooij 31 PSV Eindhoven

1999-00  Ruud van Nistelrooij 29 PSV Eindhoven

2000-01  Mateja Kežman 24 PSV Eindhoven

2001-02  Pierre van Hooijdonk 24 Feyenoord

2002-03  Mateja Kežman 35 PSV Eindhoven

2003-04  Mateja Kežman 31 PSV Eindhoven

2004-05  Dirk Kuijt 29 Feyenoord

2005-06  Klaas-Jan Huntelaar 33 sc Heerenveen (17) / AFC Ajax (16)

2006-07  Afonso Alves

Van Nistelrooy is the only one of them who transferred this to the prem and I think he was a one of.  Had the attributes needed to score in the prem.  Alves is not the same type of player.  Look at Kezman FFS how did he do here?

Did Nilis come to play for Villa at the end of his career? Man that was way back. I remember when there was a mini invasion of Dutch footballers in the Premiership. I remember Wim Jonk playing for Sheffield Wednesday! What a name!

He won't remember his time at Villa too fondly:

Nillis looked class from what I remember but got crocked very soon after signing and never played again.

From the picture it looks like  it was that utter buffoon of a man Richard Wright that did it

hardly a list of shite players tho is it? even "failures" like Kezman and Kuyt are playing at a very high level for huge clubs, Huntelaar will probably go on to do the same. machlas is the only one i'd say was a medicore.

Seems like Benjani's transfer to Man City has now been confirmed.

I'm sure you've noticed the little yellow bar has gone.

"Sky Sports News Sources" strike again!

Benjani: MCFC statement

04/02/2008 20:38

Manchester City have tonight corrected press speculation that Benjani Mwaruwari has completed his transfer to the club from Portsmouth.

Some news organisations have this evening claimed in unattributed stories that the Portsmouth striker has joined the Blues.

However a club spokesman said: “No deal has been completed. Manchester City remain in contact with the football authorities regarding this potential transfer, and any further developments will be announced first on mcfc.co.uk.”

This deal is fishier than an entire Shola fish.

Scored a cracking winner for PSV at SJP when we played them about 10 years ago.

That's a superb, superb deal. Given that he is 29. It'll rise to closer to the original figure if he makes 75 starts apparently, which I think is great business.

Quality deal. Bargain. Highest scoring striker in the Premiership is he this season? Aye there'll be add-ons but Man City have done well there! I think the guy's an excellent player.
