why take a pen with your weak foot...bellend

:nope: Still can't get over how this piece of absolute nonsense has been peddled constantly since the first half yesterday.

what nonsense?

It being the fifth of five pens he's taken for us with his right foot..

he hasn't taken them all with his right foot tbh

Yes he has.

Do you really think he stepped up to a penalty and though "Hmm, what'll make this more fun? I am SO gonna take this with my weaker foot."

He's two-footed ffs. See goal against Tottenham (3-2, Roeder season) / goal against Aston Villa (2-0 this season). He's as two-footed as it gets. I'm not denying it was a shite penalty and he probably shouldn't have taken it; but using that as a bat to hit him with is just a joke; it's a load of crap.

The penalty against Everton and one against Birmingham last season were with his left iirc

They were both with his right foot... skied the one v Everton and then the one v Brum i think sneaked in off the post, or through the keeper's hands, or something like that. Both pretty unconvincing anyhow and i was fearing the worst when he stepped up.

I'd throw a lot of money at saying he has tbh... i was certain a few mins ago but i'm now at around 98/99% just going off what you're saying. But i'm pretty sure they were all with his right. Reading, Everton, Waregem, Brum, yesterday.

I don't deny the fact it was a shit penalty. But saying "god he took it with his weaker foot, what an idiot" is.

Ronaldo... you're right actually; the Villa goal was with his left too. I'm wrong there.

Meh, i'm not pursuing this argument anymore; load of total bollocks imo. Shit penalty.

I reckon he could CP. Our defence looked very very tight yesterday and with the inclusion of Beye now too, I could quite easily see a few one nil's.

our defence looked very tight?

I must have been confused, i thought i saw Arsenal score 3 times and hit the woodwork 3 or 4 times.

I was more so referring to the first half, and prior to the crocking of Bassong and Taylor.

Just to clarify the point about Oba's pens and which feet he's taken them with.

Reading -  Scored Right foot

Everton -  Missed Left foot

Zulte Waragem - Scored Left foot

Birmingham - Scored Left foot

Arsenal - Missed Right foot

Not sure what that proves but there it is.

And Championship standard?  That is what you think isn't it?

If that's right then i hold my hands up entirely.

Kinda backs up my argument that he's two-footed, though.

Yeah I guess that's the point I was making as well. He was previously one in one with his right and two in three with his left, so having a go at him seems a bit strange.

We don't play to his strengths at all.

True, he's not the greatest passer & he's really not a target man type striker, but put him through to run on goal & he does very very well.

Trouble is, we're not set up to play that type of game, I can't really think of any time since Roeder where the team has been set up to play to his strengths.  It's more luck than judgement when the team do create those types of chances for him.

with 7 goals from open play in 16 starts?

Eaxctly how many premier league strikers have a better goals to games ratio than that?

I think thats utter bollocks. His goal yesterday came from nothing other than his own persistence. He has some of the worst midfielders in the league behind him, with a shocking supply line.
