Newcastle United 3 - 0 Reading - 05/04/08 - Post match reaction from page 18

Perfect result really, a goal from all of our strikers, a decent performance and a clean sheet.

The thing that made me smile the most was how they all seem to be playing for each other, it seems like they are actually mates and not just working with each other. The celebrations for the first 2 goals showed that, the weird dance by Faye and Martins was sad as hell but equally funny to see, and Beye picking Owen up was hilarious. He assisted Viduka as well, wonder why he didnt do the same to him

And can someone please clear up why Taylor did not play? Herd he s*** himself during the warmup :kasper:

Sky Sports report claims Taylor missed out due to a 'stomach bug' so perhaps thast correct!

Just putting this out there for everyone: Don't knock the dance from Oba and Faye. That was awesome.

Dirty Sanchez is a term that originated in the porn industry, particularly films involving ass to mouth action, used to describe the sexual practice of smearing fecal matter under the nose of one's partner by application of the penis in the form of a mustache following anal sex.[1] This act can be seen performed in the 2006 sex tape Screeched in which Saved by the Bell actor Dustin Diamond acted as cameraman and narrator.

Yep, real team celebration for the third goal

I loved how Barton had to keep his hand out for a good few seconds whilst Faye and Martins concluded their little dance before he could shake Oba's hand. Made me laugh.

The two I put up there of Beye and Edgar/Harper are 2 of my favourite images taken of us this season. Love seeing passion and emotion like that.

Fucking absolutely brilliant.

Get the fuck in. First half was actually quite tight, but we were excellent going forward, just a bit nervy at the back with Edgar there.

Second half, we took the fucking piss.

There's only onnnnnnnne Kevin Keegan!

Howay the Lads. Get in. Yes. YES.

Was a good game that, enjoyed it up in Level 7. Was worried when the teams were read out at first because either I became retarded or  the announcer got it wrong because I'm sure Butt's name wasn't read out so I thought it was going to be Faye in defensive midfield, which I don't think he's mobile enough for in this formation. Anyway obviously that wasn't the case, Reading have one level of play that they keep up throughout every match and their results are entirely dependant on how the opposition play. Also it's not hard to see why they've conceded 6 and 7 a few times, they practically set up in a 4-2-4.

First goal was so easy considering the opening 15, one ball from Butt (who was immense in my opinion) Martins basically walked it in, very composed finish aswell. Second goal was a relief for Owen considering the chance he'd missed a minute or two earlier was an absolute sitter. Second half we started amazing, 10 minutes of constant pressure and about a 15 pass move that resulted in a half hearted pen appeal. Third goal was more great work by Beye, him and Geremi link up really well down the right.

Faye was carrying a knock from about 20 minutes in, didn't go up for corners or anything in the 2nd half so I hope he's ok, would be a big miss for us. Can understand Keegan leaving him on because Edgar and Diatta would have been a huge risk. Edgar did ok incidentally, one or 2 daft things but nothing major. Barton was great, him or Beye were the obvious MOTM candidates. Duff came on and tried to impress but pissed everyone off on one break where he had Owen unmarked to his right or Martins being covered by 2 to his left, guess which option he picked...

I love the formation, Owen has flourished coming from deep, Martins is very suited to it and it's made Barton and Butt excel. Don't know if it would work against the top sides or in many away games (next week will be interesting, for example) but the signs are very good.

Haven't seen a replay but there was one Reading guy who stayed in I'm almost certain, I was sitting right behind it/above it. Was a mess because everyone knew what was going to happen second time around
