Keefaz
I know I'm almost certainly in the minority here, but I've never rated Dunne, tbh. I know he's been Citeh's Player of the Season about 300 times, but whenever I've seen him he looks shaky and frequently makes bad decisions. A couple of seasons back, I had a nightmare about Bramble and Dunne being our centre-half pairing and woke up screaming.
Dokko
£6m is a bit much like. Will be annoying if he's going for that, because it's a quality opportunity to get a really good centre-back on the cheap. He won't cost anything apart from his signing on fee, it's a Bosman. I'm hoping Robbie Keane will persuade him, they're mates having lived in the same street in Tallaght as kids. Are we still on about Dunne? As I don't know if this thread has took a turn in a different direction. As he's not out of contract is he? Dunne's out of contract apparently, yes. End of next season innit? Which is why there's been such uproar about him buying out his contract. And he can only move to a club abroad when the contract is bought out, so he still holds a fee in this Country. So another showing of MJ talking absolute fuking garbage, but really you just have to look at any one of his posts to realise such a thing.

I agree i remember him playing a few times thinking he is just awful - most notably against Arsenal a couple of years ago, he was wholely responsible for all 4 or 5 goals! Guest NorthernSoul
I reckon Taylor will benefit from him (as Micah Richards has at City). Providing we aren't paying over the odds, I can't see how this wouldn't be a quality aquisition?
Guest Heneage
I think Micah has helped Dunne not the other way round.
Dave
For the money he'll go for, I can't see how this could be perceived as anything other than an excellent transfer for us. Strong, experienced, and Keegan is fully aware of his capabilities. Sure he's no Cannavaro, but he's as ideal as they come for a club in our position. colinmk
He's had problems in the past but who hasn't? Should be all the better for coming through them and usually when I see him these days he looks excellent. Just what we need to give us a solid looking back-line. Tooj
People need to forgot we aren't exactly the most attractive club at the moment, yet the amount of people on here who scoff at some of the players we have been linked with is ridiculous.

Aye, I've notcied the same set of black and white specs on some. "Why wouldn't he leave club <x>? Outside the big four we're the best option OMG 52000 FANS WHO COULD SAY NO!?!?" SBR wasn't sacked just last week and we're not coming off the back of finishing 4th,3rd,5th; Souness, Roeder and Allardyce were in fact all employed here in the interim. We don't have European football to offer and our recent standing in the game is somewhat less than sterling. That said we can still offer massive wages and Keegan. So we'll see. Cronky
This won't be well received by all, but if Dunne is in a position of having to decide between us and Spurs, then KK's words of so-called realism and the aftermath will not have helped. This is the sort of situation that he should have been mindful of.

This would get the summer off to a very good start, if it goes through, and leave us to concentrate on getting in someone who's both a midfielder AND not shit. If they did they would only be motivated by money and that's hardly the type of player we need.
