(Except the town, obviously) For the rest of the season perhaps, can see them dropping like a stone next season. Of course they will. They haven't got a sustainable set-up there, regardless of the momentum they've got going currently. Besides, it's a matter off fact that someone has a case of second-season-syndrome every year. Mind, it's only slightly less likely we'll have the same thing.

Village Idiot
Madrid's DoF Jorge Valdano just said that the transfer "it's complicated". Still can't see this being a good idea. Mou's Real Madrid have a good dynamism going for them and really can't see RvN providing that.
jarrovianmag
Owen to the mackems http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Sunderland-set-for-sensational-swoop-for-Manchester-United-s-Michael-Owen-article674235.html Steve Bruce is ready to take Michael Owen from his old club Manchester United – and hand him a stunning move to Sunderland. Bruce hopes to pull off the sensational swoop this week and offer Owen a full-time move and the chance of regular football after being left on the fringes of Sir Alex Ferguson’s side. Black Cats boss Bruce is said to be “desperately close” to landing the ex-England striker and paying him a relatively cheap £25,000-a-week to come to Wearside. Owen has grown fed up at Old Trafford where he has hardly figured this season and badly misses the action at the age of 31 – and with some games and goals left in him. Fergie threw on Owen as a sub against old club Liverpool in the FA Cup last week, but it is not enough for the far-travelled forward who wants to be playing on a regular basis. Bruce has a dream of chasing Europe at Sunderland and he thinks Owen could fire him closer, giving Darren Bent a possible partner and a top-class replacement if he is injured. Owen is also up for the move despite the fact that he played for bitter rivals Newcastle United – that part of his career does not concern Bruce either. The Sunderland chief has bemoaned the lack of finishers in his side this season despite Sunderland’s strong push for a top-six slot. If he lands Owen then that problem may be solved. Owen has had some injury problems in his time at United, but Sunderland are confident they can treat him right and use him properly to add an extra ingredient to their season. Ferguson will have to release Owen from his contract to let the deal go ahead. However he took him for nothing and may be sympathetic. The Manchester United chief also likes Bruce and is aware that this gesture may help relations between the clubs when it comes to the sale of midfield maestro Jordan Henderson, who made his full England debut at the end of last year, probably in the summer. A source close to Owen is convinced the move to Sunderland will happen, and said last night: “This is not about money – Michael will get a fair contract but he is more interested in playing and scoring.”

AyeDubbleYoo
To be fair to Owen he's seemed reasonably sharp when he's got on the pitch this season... he might do alright if he gets more game time.
KaKa
To be fair to Owen he's seemed reasonably sharp when he's got on the pitch this season... he might do alright if he gets more game time. Don't be absurd. The guy won't get on the pitch, and even if he manages it he will be invisible as usual.

Stottie
Has no-one been in for Elmander yet? I'm sure his agent will have put his name about looking for a pay rise. Bolton have to question whether he's worth foregoing three million or so for just for another fifteen or so league games.
