Unbelievable Posted January 28, 2011 Share Posted January 28, 2011 Always apprehensive about strikers coming from Holland, after some recent big money signings have turned out to be flops (Kezman, Alves, Huntelaar, Tomasson etc) but then Kluivert can be used as an example of leaving Holland and achieving better things Is Kluivert the only striker you can think of who came from the Dutch league and proved successful outside of Holland? johnnypd Posted January 28, 2011 Share Posted January 28, 2011 Makaay was definitely under-rated. seem to remember he scored a hat-trick the same night rooney did in the champion's league, no-one noticed cos of that. some other good strikers who made the move from dutch league - Larsson, Gudjohnsen. Van Hooijdonk would've been a success had he not been an arse. Litmanen always looked good too, despite never playing quite as well outside of the netherlands.
