The West Ham chairman had already said at the start of the summer that they'd need to offload upto 15 players to sort out the club's wage bill.

Curbishley has been prepared to sacrifice high earners in order to keep hold of others.

Meanwhile, what's going on at Everton? Apart from making Pienaar permanent, they haven't signed anyone, they've lost and failed to replace their best player last season (Fernandes), they've lost Johnson, and they are about to sign a 28 year old right back who has been released by Nurenberg. Unless they sign people quick, they'll be bottom half. Could even get relegated if two or three players suffer injuries.

You have forgot Carsley who was a first teamer. Not looking good for Everton, i see no way in which they could finish 5th again with effectively a worse squad.

Whilst remaining in the Premier League Everton are somewhat of a Yo-Yo club, flirting with top 4 one year and relegation the next (whilst never being in serious danger). They'll be fine this year, mid table

Wonder if we could get Upson for a decent price from West Ham. Decent CB who can also play LB.

Would rather have Lescott tbh but i'd be astonished if we managed to pry him away from Everton.

I think we might be better off getting a good CB who's left footed and can cover LB than buying a LB outright as Enrique's good enough long term imo.

Not going to happen but would be nice.

I'd actually be surprised if we did buy a specialist LB, seems KK does see Zog as a viable option there. And with Jonas the LW position is pretty much occupied.

I'm guessing that when KK thinks Enrique's up to speed he'll start at LB (or we'll sign another one), Zoggy will play LW and Jonas will switch to the RW.

Nah, it can't be turmoil, they're a London club.

exactly. if that was happening here, there would be "experts" giving opinions and reports on it. however, its a london club, so lets just brush over it.

Robinho's agent saying a deal is close for him to go to Chelsea so if there is any truth in the Malouda rumours we should hear something soon

If Robinho goes to Chelsea i think it will be SWP who moves on (hopefully to us!)

I'd like to see Malouda here, i think he's relish playing under KK as he's a very good footballer IMO. Although, as said above, i'd prefer SWP.

wouldn't take malouda if he was offered for free tbh. he's the complete opposite of what we need right now, and very average.

If Malouda plays every week again he would be a decent signing, saying that i wouldnt take him at Arsenal, over payed, over hyped (after the world cup), just a bit unproductive for me.

aye but the euros should have seen the end of that, i cant think anyone who stood out more in the wrong ways than malouda during that tournement.

Malouda would probably be better than any of our left wingers, but his age, is temperement, his price and wage demands make this move a silly one considering we have enough decent left wingers at the club.

If we could get a right hand version of him we'd be buzzing, but sadly this move is pointless unless we can offload Duff, play Jonas souly as a RW and Zoggy is seen as a LB, a setup i'm not sure is worth thinking about to accomodate a player only slightly better that the best we've got in that position.

i wouldn't mind swp if we could get him. if i could have any midfielder currently playing in the PL but not in the first XI of the top 4 (i.e. slightly realisitic) i would have arteta. he's exactly what we need, but he's settled and everton would never sell, and swp would improve us.

I don't like SWP, feel we could get someone else in cheaper who could do the same job better. If we were to get him though I wouldn't complain, but with Jonas looking like a good signing I'd rather us go out and try to get a similar type of player for the right hand side rather than the raw pace and debateable end product of SWP.

i'm not a big fan of swp either, but he is better than milner and i think him and jonas would work together quite well. if we had those 2 in the team we would be deadly on the counter.

i wont be dissapointed if we dont get him, but if we do i wont think its a bad move either.
