Guest elbee909
To think that 14 months ago our defense was Carr - Bramble - Taylor - Babayaro and tomorrow it might be Beye - Faye - Coloccini - Enrique And yet we'll still get the leaky defence clichés in the press. We conceded 65 goals last season. ahem. The defence always gets the blame, it's never anything to do with the midfield as far as the media are concerned. I think that the defence was probably culpable for at least some of those 65, though. I blame Allardyce/Souness/etc.
Kasper
tbf FM means s*** all when it comes to stats and stuff. Good signing though Actually its spot on quite often http://img106.imageshack.us/img106/2598/immaginexv3.jpg Crossing. You have some trouble understanding the word "often" then? Guest Sez
Incidentally, our ball retention isn't the problem. We see a reasonable amount of the ball in the midfield. The problem is that they don't DO anything with this possession.

Pointing out that Kasper is a sad little fanboy, especially when you look at his sig, doesn't make me a WUM.

thomas
Oh hey we're signing a class defender, let's all get at each others throats about anything else in the thread about him.
LoveItIfWeBeatU
Good stuff. Wonder if chants of "Argentina" will be echoing around SJP, like they did at OT when Gabby Heinze played there. I hope not. It's cringe worthy. Could you imagine us signing an American player and having St. James' Park chanting "USA, USA"? It would turn my stomach. I don't have a problem with Argentina, the USA or anywhere else but Newcastle are English so why chant a foreign countries name?

Disco
I hope as a few people have said already, he is proper nasty bastard, hard but fair/unfair if needs be type. We have been crying out for someone like that for a fair while. Proper Argentine style much like Heinze was for Man Utd.

Disco
Hopefully a signing of another current Argentine int'l will make us a more attractive proposition to other players we may be in for whereas we may not have been before. A bit of a signal of intent signing if you will.
