BONTEMPI
LOL And so it rolls on Still trying to grovel as he knows he's totally fucked up but still employing wise I bet is what Keegan doesn't want Ashley you know what you have to do so do it! afar
Yep, LMA saying they couldn't reach an agreement. Bugger, ok back to being depressed
YankeeToon
All lies! Keeping it all a big secret for Keegan's dramatic pre-game return tomorrow. :-[
davy_fulla
Yet another twist. Wonder what this means for the protests tomorrow? Ashley would have requested this meeting so does this put him in a better light? I can see people milling around tomorrow not knowing what to do. Mongs everywhere with banners held up with a big '?' on them (or probably a '!' looking at their last spelling atrocities). It's all getting a bit tedious now
abcdefg
Is it just me or does Mikes meetings always include drinks or food? You don't get that figure without effort.
Guest
The pressure must be heaped on Ashley tomorrow, that is a must. Why? He's tried to bring him back. Might be further discussions at a later date for all we know.
Mick
KK lets us down. Ashley has given him a chance to calm down & he just isn't interested. It could also he Keegan giving Ashley a chance, we still don't know who was in the wrong although I'm happy to take the side of Keegan.
stozo
I think Ashley has a new manger lined up and today was his final attempt to get Keegan back before hiring the new manager at the start of next week.

Yorkie
KK lets us down. Ashley has given him a chance to calm down & he just isn't interested. Keegan's sticking to his guns ffs man. If he doesn't want to work under Wise then he won't. I cannot see Ashley getting rid of his recruitment approach, ie Wise.

Guest guinness_fiend
This meeting must have been about legal issues then, surely? Oh well. Why? It could have been about what the best fast food joint is for all we know? This last week or so has all be speculation. No-one on this board knows what is going on. I would personally, however, bet that it was to do with him coming back, as otherwise the LMA would have no need to get involved. When it comes to compensation negotiations, Ashley and Keegan would have their own solicitors and the LMA would be on the periphery. Especially given that they met at a law firm in London. Was it confirmed whether they met at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer?
furney89
"The League Managers Association can confirm that talks to resolve several issues were held today between Kevin Keegan and Mike Ashley of Newcastle United Football Club. However, the discussion failed to reach a satisfactory conclusion. For further information please contact: Richard Bevan, LMA Chief Executive, 07860 474 767 " someone have any free minutes? give him a bell
johnnypd
keegan won't return if the reasons why he left are still in place, simple as that. pointless trying to get him back on the same terms. anyway the meeting may be about legal stuff regarding his departure, rather than bringing him back. midds
'couldn't reach a satisfactory conclusion' implies that something could have been agreed from the meeting. Whether this something was to prevent it going to court or him coming back as manager is anyone's guess. This will have just antagonised fans even more imo. If he doesn't want to work under Wise then he won't. In a pretty petty way in the grand scheme of things.
Mick
I think that's a bit unfair tbh. I still think that the job Keegan took in January wasn't the job he left almost two weeks ago.
Guest Howaythetoon
If the LMA are acting as KK's spokespeople we can safely assume these talks were over legal issues regarding settlements and so forth rather than returning as manager. Jay Jay Sea
What this meeting has served to do tonight is built up those, already in a state of pent up anger, frustration and frenzy, KICK OFF big time tomorrow. In house fighting will occur as will scenes of craziness tomorrow.....the timing is fucking unreal........so late in the day.....hopes built up again........it's gonna go off tomorrow if the reports that KK and Ashley could not reach a compromise......even if it is say 1000 fans kicking off over the course of the day......
