Bassong was immense. thought the opposite about Martins, was very efficient and clever on the ball. n'zogbia was shite by contrast. also thought Bassong struggled at times even before beye went off he was giving them too much free space. Nobody Posted October 20, 2008 Share Posted October 20, 2008 Mixed feelings, would've taken 2-2 after being ten men and 1-0 down after 10 minutes, but we could so easily have won, and three points would have been a massive achievement. Feel that we shouldn't have defended quite that deep towards the end, even with ten men. Colo man of the match, he was simply outstanding. Duff and Given did very well too. Newcastle Fan Posted October 20, 2008 Share Posted October 20, 2008 Good game that was, disappointed we didn't get all 3 points though My comments:- Given: Been pretty decent, some great saves and can't be faulted for any of their goals, same old Shay. Bassong: looked solid, good strong defender, his only problem is his lack of technique when the ball is in his feet Colo:Looked pretty good, he really looks like a class defender minus the physical abillties, hopefully he'll get better with time Taylor: Strong solid peformence. Beye: can't really say anything about him, shouldn't have been sent off Butt: Good peformence from him today, he often gives one good game in every 5 or so games, that was it. Geremi: worked hard either in midfield or as a right back, another assist today. Duff: worked his socks off but faded towards the end of the game, h ope he can keep it up. Guthrie: looked good, some nice passing and covering. Martins: did what was expected from him, worked hard up front or as a winger. Ameobi: whenever i see his name in the starting line-up i expect him to give that sort of peformence, he has the height and strength to play the way he did, its just the question of can he do it every game, great peformence today and capped it with a goal. Subs: Zoggy: Worked hard Carroll: although i quite like him, he shouldnt have been brought on today, his first game in about 4 or 5 month and it can't have come at a worse time, poor peformence but hopefully a run in with the reserves and he'll get back to full fitness.
