I'm not a bean counter, but I can navigate the basics of a balance sheet and depreciation isn't debt repayments Happy to be corrected though Edit: had another quick squizz at their accounts as that's where I got my info from. Unless I'm reading it completely wrong they pay £25m a year for their finance. They owe £850m to various lenders, with an average term of 20ish years and average interest about 3% The finance for the training ground was paid off in early 2023 You’re dead on - that’s precisely what it is. It’s not a payment - it’s the amount of the original cost of a property which is amortised for accounting or tax purposes across a fixed period (usually as a percentage of the original cost). Spurs’ actual repayment costs could be a different sum.

This squad is in transition imo. It’s for 2-3 years down the line. A lot of teenagers. Yeah that’s part of the point - this is a transition that was needed at least a couple of years before it eventually happened. Doesn’t preclude us being able to win trophies now or later, but it was never going to be without at least a little bit of pain. I think people are partly protesting because of missed opportunities in the recent past, partly because however impressive the wage-to-turnover is - and it is impressive - if you want to be one of the big boys sooner or later you have to spend real money. The Postecoglu stuff is harder to parse because we’ve truly looked bloody good at times then everyone died, and that is clearly a result of his coaching, bad luck, and the timing during squad-building. I don’t think the fans would be protesting if we were winning/playing better, and I don’t think that part is really down to Levy.

Making masses of money first, winning second. Remember they were the first club to float on the stock exchange and set up a marketing dept. Taught ManU a thing or two. duo
Was reading an article about why they are protesting and one of the quotes was: Quote This is despite the club posting a revenue of £615m last season and charging the second-most expensive adult season ticket in Europe at £856. Do they mean as in thats the cheapest you can get one? Edited February 18 by duo
Zero
615m revenue. How about the net profit? Edited February 18 by Zero
Disco Posted Friday at 20:04 Share Posted Friday at 20:04 Dan Levy has requested Spurs never be referred to as Tottenham as the local area makes him wince, feel physically ill, and is harming profit for shareholders.

They can still win the Europa league and be in the CL next season. We need their profile to fall year on year. Same with Man U. No Europe.
AyeDubbleYoo
I don’t think Spurs can really hit form as such. They can win a couple of games and then lose another couple, etc.

Bimpy474
Spurs hitting form is a bit of a stretch, beating Man Utd and Ipswich the two worst form teams currently, and they were lucky to beat Manure. Time will tell, but I think the Ange era is still going to end soonish. Edited 16 hours ago by Bimpy474
SiLvOR
Yeah Spurs will get pumped off the first actually competent team they come up against, as usual
Yorkie
Spurs play loads of teams around us in their next run of games. Could do with them becoming competent for a bit. Then funny again.
