Edit: had another quick squizz at their accounts as that's where I got my info from. Unless I'm reading it completely wrong they pay £25m a year for their finance. They owe £850m to various lenders, with an average term of 20ish years and average interest about 3%

The finance for the training ground was paid off in early 2023

 

 

 

 

You’re dead on - that’s precisely what it is.  It’s not a payment - it’s the amount of the original cost of a property which is amortised for accounting or tax purposes across a fixed period (usually as a percentage of the original cost).  Spurs’ actual repayment costs could be a different sum.

Yeah that’s part of the point - this is a transition that was needed at least a couple of years before it eventually happened. Doesn’t preclude us being able to win trophies now or later, but it was never going to be without at least a little bit of pain.

 

I think people are partly protesting because of missed opportunities in the recent past, partly because however impressive the wage-to-turnover is - and it is impressive - if you want to be one of the big boys sooner or later you have to spend real money. The Postecoglu stuff is harder to parse because we’ve truly looked bloody good at times then everyone died, and that is clearly a result of his coaching, bad luck, and the timing during squad-building. I don’t think the fans would be protesting if we were winning/playing better, and I don’t think that part is really down to Levy.

That's kind of how it was with Spurs back in the middle to late '80s. Making masses of money first, winning second. Remember they were the first club to float on the stock exchange and set up a marketing dept. Taught ManU a thing or two.

Nah we are want them forever shit. They can still win the Europa league and be in the CL next season.  We need their profile to fall year on year.  Same with Man U. No Europe.

as such. They can win a couple of games and then lose another couple, etc.

Spurs hitting form is a bit of a stretch, beating Man Utd and Ipswich the two worst form teams currently, and they were lucky to beat Manure.

 

Time will tell, but I think the Ange era is still going to end soonish.
