TRon
carroll would look very good in a good time imo, he clearly wins a lot of headers, so a team that had 2 wingers for example putting in a few decent crosses You know fine well that scoring headers and flicking them on are two very different things. To be fair at times he has been magnificent in turning pretty poor crosses into goal scoring opportunities/goals. He doesn't do it often enougn but then we don't get balls into the box enough either. His flick ons tend to be into empty space, I actually think he's better at heading for goal, although he tends to jump vertically and doesn't attack the ball well for the power headers. He's looked best alongside Ranger for me, both lads can run with the ball so there seems less reliance on the redundant high ball tactic.
relámpago blanco
We'd be better using Ranger as target man allowing Carroll to make runs into the box, I know he's not the quickest but if we can play it to ranger, get the midfield to support him, fire in a cross thatll be our best method of scoring imo. Guest toonlass
He's a professional footballer on his stronger foot. What is he on his weaker foot? A plumber? Taxi driver?
Cajun
Could do with some decent tuition like. Really don't know what Chris Hughton and Colin Calderwood could possibly have to offer when it comes to fine-tuning the abilities of a raw striker. Reckon him and Ranger could flourish under Shearer. Keegan would have been able to even more with them. BHAM. I don't really buy this "he was a world class defender/midfielder/striker therefore he would be able to turn so and so into a better player". Keane and Souness haven't/didn't turn their midfielders into world class players, although I have heard while Mourinho was at Chelsea he developed of squad of highly skilled translators so I could be wrong. Mowen
Shola hardly came on a lot under the tutorship of Shearer on the pitch. Admittedly, that might well be because he's a bit terrible.

WarrenBartonCentrePartin
NEWCASTLE star Andy Carroll was arrested today following a nightclub brawl. The 20-year-old was allegedly involved in a face-off with another reveller inside Bigg Market nightspot Blu Bambu in the early hours of this morning. A man was taken to Newcastle General Hospital with head injuries, not described as life-threatening, following the incident and later discharged. Carroll was picked up by police on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and taken for questioning, before being released on bail pending further enquiries. It is understood no weapons were involved in the attack. A witness reported seeing the 6ft 3in striker being removed from the club after the incident. The footballer had been drinking with pals in the club’s VIP area. A witness said: “He’s been a Premier League footballer, it’s not what you expect to see. “He was pulled out of the club. He’d been in the VIP area. I don’t know if police were waiting outside.” Paramedics confirmed they were called to Blu Bambu shortly after 1.30am to treat a man suffering from head injuries. The incident came after another win for Newcastle United on Saturday as they bid to bounce straight back to top-flight football. The Magpies saw off Watford 2-0, in another convincing home display, which saw Carroll brought on as a second-half substitute. A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: “At shortly after 1.30am today police were received reports of an assault at Blu Bambu, in the Bigg Market, Newcastle. “A man suffered head injuries which are not described as life-threatening. He was taken to Newcastle General Hospital and later discharged. “A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.” Carroll has been a crucial part of United’s assault on the Championship since their relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season. The police probe into Carroll comes less than three months after he became a dad for the first time. The striker dedicated his goal against Blackpool in September to his baby daughter. Last September Carroll was cautioned for an assault on a woman in Newcastle city centre. The one-time winner of the Wor Jackie Milburn Trophy for rising stars of North East football was taken away for questioning, then later accepted a caution for the attack, which was caught on camera. In October last year a thief snatched his fiancee’s £6,000 diamond engagement ring. The ring was in company director Faye Johnstone’s £600 designer Miu Miu handbag, which was taken from her desk at Heaton-based firm Easylet. The 23-year-old was alerted by her barking Chihuahua Bella after the thief sneaked in as she stepped into the kitchen. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/north-east-news/todays-evening-chronicle//tm_headline=andy-carroll-arrested-over-brawl-in-nightclub%26method=full%26objectid=25338720%26siteid=72703-name_page.html
