I thought he was 14.

not quite , but i pass for a 32 yr old on a good day.

edit- a 14 year old would never fuck up the quotes as often as i do, or talk about Kevin Keegan,... even when theres nobody there.

I dunno. You're a "Keegan fan" in such a 14-year-old way.

i think im a keegan fan in such a,... i find the reaction to a keegan fan so amusing that i overstate it to amuse myself way.

You can't base fitness on weight anyway. I'm almost 16 stone, but I'm not overweight. A grown 6 foot man will struggle to be below 14 stone if he has any muscle mass.

That's not true at all. If you're 6 ft and 14 stone you're overweight according to the body mass index. It's 196 pounds, in boxing terms that's 4 pounds under being a heavyweight. It's BIG.

BMI doesn't take into account muscle mass. It assumes everyone male in the world has the same amount.

But it's not a good thing for an athlete to have too much muscle. I think if you're 26, 14 stone, and 6 foot then you either have too much muscle or too much fat.

Not true. Most athletes have high BMI's.

What sports are we talking about here? I would expect Rugby players to have high BMI's, they're supposed to be heavy. But footballers, tennis players, boxers etc should be normal.

Going by Wikipedia, the swimmer Michael Phelps has a BMI of 24.4, just slightly below the "overweight" limit (25). I've got more fat on my BMI 21.5 body. Lennox Lewis's BMI was 29.7 (6 ft 5 in / 250lbs) in his prime. Muscle just happens to be much heavier than fat.

Ofcourse there is exceptions. Guys like Phelps and especially Lewis are freaks. Tyson was 5'10 and 220lbs, he wasn't unathletic. Nolan is a normal bloke though, he isn't born with huge shoulders like these guys, and if he is 14st i would find it a little odd.

The most memorable moment in last year's derby at SJP was Reid and Viduka chasing after the same ball. Viduka was so overweight and slow that he fell over thin air

bmi is a simple, out-of-date method to decide if people are obese, normal or thin. thing is, this method doesn't take ahtletisism into the equation. isn't kolo toure pretty fat if you check is bmi? i would class him as super-strong, not fat at all.

Nolan:

Not fat

What you can't tell from that image is that the camera is actually in the Sky Helicopter, trying to get a nice view of the SOS before the match. Then fatty rolls along and ruins hours of hard work.

Compared to other footballers though. Colo is the same height and 12st 3, Beye is the same height and 12st 4, Enrique is the same height and is 12st, Taylor 6'2 and 12st. 14st just seems a bit high to me. We'll soon see if it's an issue though.

Sound player to add to our squad.

We won't go down.

If we get behind the lads, voice our support, wait 'till the injured lads come back into the squad and reclaim their places when proven, then we should by all reasonable luck be ok.

Remember we are only round about the half way mark in the season.

According to those stats, Viduka is both two inches taller than Nolan  and the same height in cm, while being the same weight in stone and a few kg more. It would be more disturbing if all that could possibly be right than it would be if Nolan and Viduka had the same BMI.
