Ryan Taylor isn't any better than Perch. Classic case of a player getting better when they're out of the team.

Exactly. He's not better but his skillset would have been better suited. I'd say Taylor has more technique than Perch but Perch is clearly fitter than Taylor with better recovery pace to boot.

ain't much difference between perch and raylor, perch has better defensive qualitys than taylor but nowhere near as good going forward.

the thing is with taylor that i think hes probably more a right sided midfielder than he is a full back

I'd say there's virtually no risk throwing him in against City. He's a fairly poor footballer on the whole but i really doubt he's any worse than Perch at this level.

Thing is with Taylor is he'll grab quite a few assists and a couple of goals to boot, aswell as better link up play going forward. Taylor in the side for 'all the other things' he does with Jonas ahead of him to link up with in attack and defence. I think that partnership would be a lot more effective than the current Perch & Routlege partnership, which is our weakest part of the team in my opinion.

Well i'd say the 1st job of a defender is to defend and he's not much good at that. If people are unhappy with Perch don't start expecting Raylor will be any better. Or Simpson for that matter.

I agree that we need a RB who can defend,, Perch cannot he has proven that and is also shit at going forward.. at least Taylor would offer more in attack and from his set piece taking.

 

Lesser of two evils.. Simpson well he is a blend of both really.. not great at attacking not great at defending but better than Perch.

I thought he was fairly poor against Chelsea, aside from the superbly executed FK. Besides, he was at full-back.
