Craig saying on SSN:

- It's not an auction, first past the post with £100m will get the club.

- More than three or four serious parties interested in buying the club.

- No closer to finding out the future of Shearer, this latest news leaves him further in limbo.

- Is "led to believe" that the figures in the paper about Shearer asking for £x wages in that meeting are not far off the truth.

They have ties with the Bin Dippers apparently

Isn't that the company that Steve McMahon is involved in?  He has been seen at SJP when they were supposedly involved in some business with the club.

The board, with pictures, is at http://www.profitablegroup.com/group-executives.aspx

Steve McMahon looks a lot younger these days  :shifty:

but they do have a former (scottish) manager as "UK Operations Advisor"

The European Operations Advisor used to be our commercial director too, maybe there is some substance to this story

Group declares move for Newcastle United

Jun 9 2009 by Adam Jupp

A FAR Eastern group has officially declared an interest in taking over Newcastle United.

The news comes a day after Toon owner Mike Ashley put the club up for sale for £100m and invited people to e-mail in with bids.

The organisation, which is based in Singapore, has already said it intends to keep Alan Shearer on as manager if the move is successful.

It has links with existing football businesses, including a current Premier League club, as well as banking, property and legal services.

A high-profile football figure has been recruited to spearhead the takeover attempt for the group, which was established in the 1980s.

even with fuck all information about them, and limited substance to the story.  I hope to hell it happens.  I just want an end.

Agree. I'm so fucking sick of this, just want to get rid of Mike and get a manager in and get started with our preparations for next season.

Found a bit more on profitable - according to NOTW last August they were interested in buying - http://blogs.notw.co.uk/sport/2008/08/260m-newcastle.html (mind, that's Rob Shepherd of NOTW, so probably made up).

Steve McMahon was/is involved with them, and I think the Stephen McMahon on the executives now must be his son.

I can't think who else from Singapore would fit the picture the Chronicle are painting.

no names, no quotes, but atleast its another story. Atleast perhaps something is happening sooner rather than later?

Wonder who the "high-profile football figure" is?

Also nowt new in late edition of Ronnie Gill.

http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/

Kenny Dogleash

http://www.profitablegroup.com/group-executives.aspx

If he is with them maybe he's looking at being Chairman/Director of Football whilst Shearer takes over, after all he always liked the club.

All I know is I'd be happy with that if more so to just get rid of the fat leeching twat.

yup, i'd be happy with that like, still can't help but feel it's just bollocks to sell papers though, and we'll be left with hughton and kinnear in charge, no new signings and a decimated squad come august

Do those two points not contradict each other slightly? If there's no auction then someone interested would just pay up and buy it.

I can see what he meant, that there are three or four parties interested and have made that clear to Ashley; but the one that gets the club will be the first to firm up their interest by offering the £100m.

Tbh if a new owner cannot raise £100m to buy the club apparently debt free then i'd rather not have them here the tight arse bastards.

We want someone with at least a bit of financial manoeuvrability especially if we want to bounce back 1st time of asking and stay in the prem.

Didn't Kenny Dalgleish just take osme kind of job at Liverpool?

Him and Shearer love eachother like and would be ideal man for Al to work under, only sort of DOF relashionship that could work.

Impossible to say whether it would be a success of course, but it's difficult to think of a more suitable scenario IMO. Dalglish has had kind words to say about Shearer as a manager too: http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/287816/ALAN-SHEARER-WILL-BE-TOP-BOSS-Kenny-Dalgllsh-tips-England-legend-for-great-things.html

I'd be more concerned if there was quotes. Serious potential buyers don't usually go around shouting their mouths off ala Chris Nathanial.

Hopefully it's more a case of them taking their time looking through the book first, rather than struggling to get the money together.

Has anyone start 'due diligence' or whatever the posh term of looking at the books is?
