Guest sicko2ndbest
I think its quite positive that Moat has been named. As part of the NDA noone was allowed to be publicly named which makes me think that Moat is almost done, if he wasnt, his name would have been kept undisclosed
dustynrg
From Skunkers re Graham Roberts bid: can't say much as have signed confidentiality agreements its a hybrid real madrid model as i see it (not same as barca but similar) will reduce debt to nil IF it works as far as i know the funding model is in place and the intellectual rights to the model secured I don't pretend to understand how the model works BUT fan representation is at the centre of it hence the involvement of the trust - there will be a list of members similar to barca/madrid I understood they were speaking to harris last week thurs/fri BUT perhaps harris is trying to push the moat deal through - this might just spur things along that's about all i can really say i think and that's probably too much! So they haven't talked to Ashley or Harris or Llambias but they've signed a confidentility agreement? Is Graham Roberts a big gambler who visits London casinos perchance? Perhaps he'll bump into old Derek there then.
chicago_shearer
Why would Ashley be sitting next to Moat against Reading if there were two other prospective bidders? Nothing about this makes any sense.
pinkeye
Basically because there are no other bidders, this is the biggest heap of bullshit
STM
I don't see how the fact Ashley's trip to whever wasn't specifically to seal the deal immediately obliterates all of the "in discussions with Moat" stuff, calm down. I don't see how because Moat was sitting next to Ashley that anyone believes this thing is going to be done anytime soon. Nothing suggests that our takeover is close. That pretty much suggests it to me. I can't see why either party would want to go through such a charade unless something was happening. Moat was going to be at the game regardless of the takeover crack though. Even though it's been confirmed that Moat is indeed the front runner surely that means the takeover could still take along time? I mean look at portsmouth? ED209
could they be parading and naming moat in the hope that it forces another group into action? if we dont make a bid, it will be gone style?
Jayson
Basically because there are no other bidders, this is the biggest heap of bullshit This is what i think, i doubt theres anyone else. More likely that once again theyre trying to drag a bit more out of him. That or Moat and Ashley are mates & Moat was never intrested in buying. They just used his name to pull out others & push them into upping their bids. The latter seems a bit to clever for Ashley and co though as it would actually require some brain power, so its more likely to be the first.

Given that Barry Moat is a diehard Newcastle United fan, I doubt he'd get himself involved in shit like that with Mike Ashley.
thewellander
There's no need to panic just because the club hasn't been sold today. I'm sure there's more to it than Ashley handing the keys to the stadium over to Moat. These things take time.

Tell you one thing though, the remainder of the transfer window (presuming it goes through before the end) will be fucking mental.

Paully
WTF is this Graham Roberts thing about? It's now completely surreal. GRAHAM ROBERTS? He was sacked from his last job at Clyde or wherever for fiddling the expenses wasn't he? This is like a bad dream. Graham ROBERTS? Is he another pal of Llambias? Another Iranian type plant, because nothing else makes sense? Wait till you find out who is alongside him in the bid!!! Dennis Wise? David Speedie apparently! SteveMc
Sign some papers and say good luck to the lads (many of whom have been publically slagging him and saying that they don't know what is going on) my arse. There must have been more to it than that.
