Do we play before or after the Italy/Costa Rica game? That game could go a long way to determining our fate. If Italy - as you'd expect but can't at all presume - win that, then the Uruguay game isn't particularly must-win, per se. Either way we'll need to beat Costa Rica realistically. A draw therefore vs Uruguay would hardly be a disaster.

How much is an England friendly? Thinking about going to Wembley in September.

£25+

Not bad. Cheers

Lugano injured in training, so they're missing half of their usual defence tomorrow. Caceres is going to have to swap over to right back now as well.

Not sure if Lugano being out actually is a good thing, but the disruption can surely only help?

Bad thing for me, caceres is a better centre half by a mile.

Coates will replace him at CB.

Promising news, was surprised how shit he turned out. Moved way, way, way too early.

Wouldn't be surprised if Tabarez has a trick up his sleeve and plays 3 at the back or something.

Ah, the latest stuff I'd seen had Coates in the XI at training with Gonzalez in at RM and Suarez up top. Don't think it was an especially reputable site, mind.

England really should dispatch Uruguay with ease tomorrow, at least on paper.

Uruguay's midfield is extremely old and slow, and so are their defenders bar Godin. Combine that with a dodgy keeper, an unfit star striker, and half the back line missing, and there should be no excuse for England not to win the game.

I'd start sterling as #10 again. He'd murder Gargano/Rios
