Nothing will have stopped the violence outside the ground but I would hate to be in the area/leaving the ground at the normal finishing time of around 10 let alone 11. It wasn't like people were able to leave early and avoid the trouble. Anyone with kids must be scared shitless. Our recent derby games have been moved from 3 to 12 to give the Police a little more control both pre and post match and year on year the Police state it as a success. The FA are always loathe to punish the clubs involved in any bother with fans. They argue, rightly in my opinion, that the individuals involved should be rooted out and punished rather than the entire club. Unfortunately for West Ham and Millwall, they've both got a load of mongs who have attached themselves to the clubs who are determined to cause bother wherever the clubs play. When 2 clubs like these meet in a cup competition there's usually a load of hassle but tonight was significantly worse than usual.
