Berbatov's a brilliant player but not suited to playing with Rooney as they cancel each other out somewhat.

It would be mad to write him off though, stick him up front with a Torres type and he'd absolutely shine.

To be completely honest I don't know where Rijkaard would have played him had we got him. On a wing? I can't see that working well, he already has problems getting involved playing central. Guardiola wanted him for Eto'o last year too, mind! (Zlatan is Berbatov's improved version).

That's my feeling of it, although you could class Keane and Rooney as similar types of player. I think the big reason is responsibility, there was more when he was at Tottenham, I think he enjoyed that. We already know he's going to sulk often, so not being the center of attention hinders his personality, he goes more into his shell.

FA to investigate Gary Neville's one-fingered gesture

The Football Association will look into Gary Neville's apparent one-fingered gesture that took place in Manchester United's 2-1 loss to Manchester City.

The United substitute was warming up on the touchline when City's Carlos Tevez celebrated scoring a penalty that made it 1-1 in the Carling Cup semi-final.

Cameras caught defender Neville appearing to make a gesture in return.

The FA confirmed it will scrutinise the first-leg footage before deciding whether any further action is required.

In September, Neville was cautioned about his future conduct following United's dramatic 4-3 derby win in the Premier League when he ran towards City fans to celebrate Michael Owen's injury-time winner at Old Trafford.

The England defender received a £5,000 FA fine and was warned over his future conduct in 2006 because he celebrated in front of Liverpool's fans after United secured a late winner over their rivals.

Having been warned about this sort of stuff before he should have a ban coming his way.

2nd half of Liverpool-Spurs if I'm back in Newcastle in time. Howay Spurs.

Just so you know, Yakubu is a ridiculously fat waste of space and you should sell him to the highest bidder for funds.

I know.
