JH
However, if City win the Cup but finish outside the top four, they will enter the Europa League along with the sixth-placed team. How does that work? If City finish fifth, surely they get Europe and so the FA Cup Europa League place goes to Stoke?

Neil
Class. Come on City, then Spurs in the league, then us to finish 6th. Which isn't happening when you see our remaining games, but I can dream.

ponsaelius
Apologies if this has already been posted but.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/9448435.stm ...are supposedly the rules governing the Europa places this year. If true, then if Stoke lose to Man City in the final, they need Man City to finish fourth. They play each other in the last game, which is now being played after the Cup Final. There's a decent chance that Man City will need at least a point to get fourth, so Stoke would have a sizeable incentive to throw the game. Interesting. Yorkie
Giggs has scored. Haha, ironic. (Ironic as that particular joke has already been made, and thus the joke is relevant to this particular episode of the joke)
Ketsbaia
For some reason I listened to Keys & Gray today and they said they'd ask Tony Pulis about Europa when he's on the show this week. He'll know.

Segun Oluwaniyi
I don't know if you have heard, but 25 year old Nigeria international Olubayo Adefemi, who played for Xanthi, has died in a car accident in Greece. He was en route to Nigeria to complete wedding plans. It is a story that has made me very unhappy. Bayo was never a great talent and struggled in his club career, but always gave everything that he had for his country. Was an integral part of two great youth sides in WYC Netherlands 2005 and Beijing 2008, and performed well for the senior team in his appearances. Awful to lose such a good young man in an abrupt and unnecessary way. RIP to a true warrior and a true Nigerian. http://www1.pictures.gi.zimbio.com/Olympics+Day+11+Football+hMrJfaBpflel.jpg http://www3.pictures.gi.zimbio.com/France+v+Nigeria+International+Friendly+L51aoQE4EaGl.jpg http://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/25035adefemi%20olubayo.jpg

Gash
I'd be happy with it replacing the current League Cup. I mean, it would basically be the same but with some crappy jock teams in to make it a bit more interesting.

Guest Roger Kint
Doing that would mean theres no longer a Euro place for the winner so most teams wont even bother trying(even less than they currently do)
Pilko
It's a shit idea compounded by the fact James came up with a similar one recently.
Gash
Doing that would mean theres no longer a Euro place for the winner so most teams wont even bother trying(even less than they currently do) Do the winners of the Scottish League Cup not get a place in The Europa League? Could the best placed Scottish and English winners get a place each?
