NUFCDoog
Quite surreal seeing Keegan, Shearer and Shepherd outside SJP like after everything that has gone on. Love it. Is this the first time Keegan has been back that close to the stadium since the whole court debacle?

I think he drove past last year on his way up to the town moor for some candy floss.

Poor wording perhaps but i meant more in the sense of a semi official engagement with the club - feels weird seeing him involved like that, good weird obviously but yeah. Cheers for that though, was the candy floss for himself?

Thomson Mouse
Shepherd can fuck right off like. Sad to see he's lost so much weight
Tsunami
I'd have preferred the image to have been celebrating his last ever goal; I'm sure the Mackems would have appreciated that moment saved for posterity - he celebrated that goal with finger points on both hands. colinmk
Strange statue considering how iconic and obvious the Shearer celebration was. Is Shepherd not well? Strange to lose that much weight at his age?

number9shirt
For those questioning the Shearer salute this is how he celebrated his record breaking goal http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160913/9258b7f8c4383c4771dd092e6f6253db.jpg
Gallowgate Toon
I know open palm was his most used one but I always associate him with the one the statue's based on, for some reason.

Hanshithispantz
It's the wrong celebration like Shearer with his hand up is one of the most iconic sights in football, man.
NG32
They wont put the hand up for fear of people thinking its a Nazi salute.

This whole 'he's done this celebration before' thing is a proper wind up like. It's not like people don't know that, it's just quite obviously not the celebration he's known for, that's the point. They wont put the hand up for fear of people thinking its a Nazi salute. I can't tell if you're being serious or not.
Ronaldo
I never can tell with him.
pedro111
To be honest I am a little gutted about the hand like. The one fingered salute was mainly only used towards the tail end of his career, the statue should have been modelled off a photo of him in his pomp in 1996. Full palm out with little finger sticking outwards slightly.
Guest
Only two names I've seen confirmed so far for Man Utd are Andy Ritchie and Russell Beardsmore.
bigfella
I'd have preferred the image to have been celebrating his last ever goal; I'm sure the Mackems would have appreciated that moment saved for posterity - he celebrated that goal with finger points on both hands. They've been talking about this on Soccer AM this morning and phoned Shearer to ask him why it doesn't show his usual open palm celebration . Al said it was a reference to his last goal in football and they showed the pen against the makems and the subsequent finger point.
huss9
saw the statue up close today before the match and have to say its very good. the photos on the internet dont really do it justice.
M4
Checked it out yesterday as well, and whilst still a little bit cartoonish I agree it looks better in reality than photos. I like that they gave him the proper old school Umbro boots. http://i.imgur.com/YXh1VTL.jpg
Guest Howaythetoon
Its much better up close. Its better than the SBR one. Wor Jackie's is a great statue though, one of the best!
Tsunami
The face is too thin, it does though look better than the photos. Don't like the left arm positioning at all
Guest
Any word at all on who Man Utd are bringing on Sunday? It's going to be people like Pilkington, O'Kane and Cooke isn't it.
