The old Chris Hughton discussion thread

Recommended Posts

Hughton will not be under any extra pressure if we lose today because not many expect us to beat Everton.

However, the games against Wigan, West Ham and Stoke will go a long way to deciding whether he - and the team as it currently is - are capable of keeping the club in the Prem because these clubs, along with Blackpool, are the teams we have to get points from to stay up.

Interesting month or two ahead....

Yet again, he's learning from past mistakes. Quality selection, Chris

I have faith on him based purley on the fact that  he's not an arrogent idiot like Allardyce and Souness and actually learns from his mistakes.

Well said.

Received some unneccessary stick last week. :smug:

It was a poor performance against Blackpool, total opposite to today. As I said in the match thread looking back it's a bit disappointing that we seemed to bottle out of playing total football against them and hit too many long balls, looking to match them physically. If we'd set out to play like today we'd have won that game I reckon.

Got everything right and picked the correct side. Tiote and Bafra must start every game.

Aye, got it tragically wrong for 45mins last weekend though. Impressed with him today, hopefully last week was a one off and he's learnt from it.

Got it wrong last week and took some justified stick. Got it right today and should expect some praise.

Fantastic result, a job well done. :)

That team would have beaten Blackpool btw ;)

Wasn't just the team selection though IMO, it was the gameplan.
