Cronky
Also; everybody should wear a Rolex watch, people who use laptops in public are jerks, and Peter Andre is one of the greatest singers in the world. 60-year-old virgin. Figure that one out. Mr Parry is 'hovering around the half century' i will have you know......horrid little welsh twat! FFS is on talksport in a minute for anyone who likes to start their day badly We can rely on him to keep the pot boiling.
Dave
i dont mind hughton getting the push, i think he has failed to deliver this season. He has failed to deliver any real attacking threat, and has persisted with dodgy players like perch. AT least he will be remembered for giving us tiote, who has been great for us. Otherwise i think he needs help from someone of a superior tactical brain. Problem is I dont see us getting a superior replacement, only a sideways move, in which case, it would be pointless thing to do. Either give us someone with champions league experience or keep CH. Guest Roger Kint
Surprisingly little actually. Went a bit quiet when Mick Quinn suggested there was a history of bad decisions that Ashley has continued since.

TRon
It's amazing how this story has snowballed with no basis in reality whatsoever. They don't seem to be talking about anything else on Talksport for the past 48 hrs as far as I can tell there's absolutely no reason to think it's anything more than some daft rumour which has been plucked out of thin air. madras
simple answer, don't listen to talksport, it's shite and works on the idea of being controversial in order to get people to ring in......don't feed it.
80
The statement backs up what you say though Parky rather than go against it. They've said they won't sack him, they've said they'll start talks after the New Year, where we'll have a better idea of if we're going to do well or not, I reckon the statement was needed because silence would have been deafening had the press continued speculating as they are and we'd said nothing to deny it. What was really needed was a private briefing to the effect of 'stop being bloody stupid, of course we're not going to sack him'. Such statements are far more effective as more can be said off the record and journalists believe them more than stilted missives like this. They're done all the time at other clubs and the Board knows it seeing as Llambias has regularly enjoyed being an 'inside source' in the past. It clearly hasn't happened, though. Guest Stephen927
Pardew as manager would be just as bad as Kinnear coming back at this stage.

Skirge
The fact the club reacted makes it even more news worthy though.. I get why they did but its not really helped the situation. Hughton is doing a grand job and lets face it any manger who would/could take us further would not come here, and Ashley would not pay top manager wages. I have faith in Hughton and can see him being the one in demand soon enough, we will be the ones begging him to stay.

Basically this is a total non story, the fact it has gained so much coverage says much more about the press than it does about Hughton or his position. JH
It was necessary for the club to respond. Because silence is often the worst thing you can do, it would send the papers into overload on crap to print. Don't agree on him being the one in demand like. Nobody said we were planning a bid for Messi. Some were saying we were considering giving Hughton the chop, and it has been spreading this week. Guest Brazilianbob
Our London lawyers told us two weeks ago that Pardew was being lined up, to the extend that a draft contract was in place. I can only guess from that they they have prepared it. I refused to believe it but I am not sure all of a sudden... I would be very surprised if our lawyers were going around spouting the odds. If they were a top firm they wouldn't remain top for long if that's the way they approach business. You are correct but they told me in confidence onviously not expecting me to put it on Forum They could have been testing your loyalty and reliability! You have failed abysmally. Yorkie
It really is quite ridiculous the extent to which this has spiralled to. Completely unfounded and a load of nonsense anyway. Bizarre.
wormy
How is that in any way the same madras? I can see why they'd put a statement out, why stay silent and let the rumours fester? Like it or not the media can have a big sway, and if they're constantly saying Hughton's under pressure, he will become under pressure. Like with most of their statements I feel it could probably have been worded better, but it needed to be nipped in the bud.
midds
Staying silent might have been better actually... 5.2 The Club admitted to the Tribunal that it repeatedly and intentionally misled the press, public and the fans of Newcastle United. The media hasn't forgotten.
