womblemaster
i dont mind hughton getting the push, i think he has failed to deliver this season. He has failed to deliver any real attacking threat, and has persisted with dodgy players like perch. AT least he will be remembered for giving us tiote, who has been great for us. Otherwise i think he needs help from someone of a superior tactical brain. Problem is I dont see us getting a superior replacement, only a sideways move, in which case, it would be pointless thing to do. Either give us someone with champions league experience or keep CH. Jayson
Yeah because clearly its the tactics which stop us from outplaying everyone in the league & Ryan Taylor would have changed our season
themanupstairs
I'm somewhat in total disbelief at the way this is panning out in the media and club. I also cannot believe some of what I'm reading on here. No wonder we are shit stuck with this "deluded" label. Let's stick it to the cunts on Sunday first shall we? "failed to deliver any real attacking threat" we've scored in all but 2 league matchs (one of which was with an inspired blackpool keeper on the day) and i may be wrong here but are 3rd highest scorers in the league

Benwell Lad
Chrissy hughtons black and white army-we hate sunderland! Malicicious rumours being started by macum supporting journalists and editors attempting to deflect attention from the unpopularity of beach ball head down the road. He's spent a fortune and still not made any real improvement, they're finding great difficulty in scoring - even their fans know they've been very fortuante with results so far, AND he lives and socialises in Newcastle because he wouldn't be seen dead in Sunderland apart from pay day, just like most of his players. Guest Roger Kint
Surprisingly little actually. Went a bit quiet when Mick Quinn suggested there was a history of bad decisions that Ashley has continued since.

TRon
It's amazing how this story has snowballed with no basis in reality whatsoever. They don't seem to be talking about anything else on Talksport for the past 48 hrs as far as I can tell there's absolutely no reason to think it's anything more than some daft rumour which has been plucked out of thin air. madras
simple answer, don't listen to talksport, it's shite and works on the idea of being controversial in order to get people to ring in......don't feed it.
80
The statement backs up what you say though Parky rather than go against it. They've said they won't sack him, they've said they'll start talks after the New Year, where we'll have a better idea of if we're going to do well or not, I reckon the statement was needed because silence would have been deafening had the press continued speculating as they are and we'd said nothing to deny it. What was really needed was a private briefing to the effect of 'stop being bloody stupid, of course we're not going to sack him'. Such statements are far more effective as more can be said off the record and journalists believe them more than stilted missives like this. They're done all the time at other clubs and the Board knows it seeing as Llambias has regularly enjoyed being an 'inside source' in the past. It clearly hasn't happened, though. Skirge
The fact the club reacted makes it even more news worthy though.. I get why they did but its not really helped the situation. Hughton is doing a grand job and lets face it any manger who would/could take us further would not come here, and Ashley would not pay top manager wages. I have faith in Hughton and can see him being the one in demand soon enough, we will be the ones begging him to stay.
