S.S.R.
Fucking hell, would love him here. I reckon he also has a better chance to show off here than at Man Utd/Arsenal etc. Nile - Moses partnership would be awesome. Bit of an Egyptian theme we've got going on. themanupstairs
Right, but Carroll was in that team. There's no way he'd fit into any team trying to play football. Serious question: I know you have your reservations about Carroll. But what did you think of both his goals against WBA in the cup?
maybe_next_year
with palace 'considering' the bid, i'd like to think the bid will have been substansial enough to be serious, while at the same time we wont be getting ripped off. hope this comes off, but still very doubtfull, surely Ashley wont make 4 sensible signings in one window? jdckelly
I take it the trip to Vegas was not a waste of time then. and people were criticising that, that'll teach the sunday sun
Guest
Well they haven't rejected it, which suggests to me it'll be accepted unless a bidding war starts. Then I guess it's a matter of how high do we go?
James
The annoying thing is lack of privacy in this deal. The administrators will probably be releasing minute by minute statements announcing who and what the current highest bid is. One thing that could go in our favour is that administrators will want the money in one big single installment. Ashley as we know favours this, yet not many other clubs can manage it. dcmk
Right, but Carroll was in that team. There's no way he'd fit into any team trying to play football. because you have seen him in a team trying to play football?
Dokko
Well they haven't rejected it, which suggests to me it'll be accepted unless a bidding war starts. Then I guess it's a matter of how high do we go? Teams will want to pay in instalments and add-ons, meaning the initial interested parties like Barca & Madrid (if that was ever the case) won't pay upfront for a player years away from making a 1st team appearance while the likes of Forest won't have the kind of lump sum Palace Admin would require to clear debts. Citeh have turned their attention to Adam Johnson while the Spuds have a goal keeping problem to solve. It really does leave us and WBA, WBA have the cash as well. I reckon £3m upfront is the highest we should go.
David28
Why has Ashley suddenly become a "good owner"? One and a half year ago (summer 2008) with Keegan in charge and the Ashley of today backing his manager.... future could have been great. Still delighted obviously that he maybe finally got the message though.
johnnypd
I'd prefer Routledge and Moses either side of the striker. But now i'm just being greedy. Moses Ameobi Routledge Jonas Smith Guthrie Could work... looks like a better version of - Robben Drogba Cole Lampard Makelele Tiago
binnsy
Right, but Carroll was in that team. There's no way he'd fit into any team trying to play football. Don't think England Under 21's are a long ball team and Carroll has fitted in well with them, been excellent, scored goals and had good reviews from the likes of Pearce. but then you know best ;-)

It might of been his masterplan of seriously getting rid of the big earners who didn't produce, aswell as pushing the academy through.

MW
Will end up at someone like Everton I think. Moyes has a good track record with buying players from the Championship, I think he'd do well there.

Not really leaked though in the usual sense since this is the Admins prime job, to drum up interest for sellable assets that may save the club. The Prophet
Can see this one going to deadline, Palace will no doubt wait until the last minute hoping one of the top flight panics and puts a silly bid in.

All he's doing is what he should have been doing from day one...which is what any bog standard owner would have done.

Possibly, or for every moment the creditors don't get paid the default payments increase, and were not talking £20 a day for being over drawn. Guest ProudToBeAGeordie
It aint upto the administrators, they need to sell before monday, Final decision rests with the player, If say forest bid more money, but the player wants newcastle, then they cannot force him out , they would have to accept where the player wants to goto regardless of the money offered.
