Wow, just seen their fixtures after these two games, two away trips to the capital, then two rock hard home games. Fail to beat Blackburn at home and I doubt they'll win again in 2011. What a year it's been.

would be canny if they headed for thier post christmas slump already bottom

There's a post at RTG that raises an interesting point:

In the 19 point season

At this stage of the season we had 13 points.

They're on, what, 11 now?

That's really worrying when you take a look at this. Tough end to the season as well.

I wonder how long it will take to even attain 14 points, the difference between the two sides in the table? Some big six pointers coming up in the next month. Good luck to your forces. Bad times if they can't take something off Wigan.

I hope we lose to Wigan.

From the thread posted earlier it seems like there is a lot with similar views. Bruce still has a long time left on his contract doesn't he? Don't think they should be hoping for loses because he must be due a sizeable payoff and it might take a lot more for the board to decide it's worth it

Watched their game on MotD and what stood out the most was the disgusting amount of rubbish on the pitch and surrounding area.

At one point one of their players slipped on a plastic bag near the touchline.

Tramps through and through.

sess slid on what looked like a dog shit bag.  his agent cant get him out of there fast enough

The Di Santo goal was nothing short of hilarious rounded off brilliantly by Larsson (I think) falling on his arse to leave one of the worst strikers in the league with a tap in.

I think the 5-1 broke them as a club and they just haven't recovered.

They played well for 2 months or so after the 5-1. The wheels seemed to fall off around January.

Around the time they sold that player who was stopping them playing flowing football IIRC, who needs goals? :yao:

Blackpool at home the last game of 2010 when they battered them but got beat 2-0. Have only won 3 on Wearside since I think?
