Hatem Ben Arfa

FYI... kitbag.com has this seasons shirt with £10 off and free Premier League badges and name and number!

I've shamelessly impulse-ordered one!

I'm getting one as well. I have not seen us sign a player like this since Robert and even then it took me a few games to realize how special he was. HBA was great from the word go!

Well done to all involved, Mike, Derek, Pardew and Houghton (if he was the one who spotted him in the first place?). Hope this won't be our last. Will be happy with one more striker and a few backups.

For once it would appear that the club has got their PR right over announcing a signing. All media outlets released the story at 10am and local media must have known in advance as they all had pre-prepared stories with quotes to release at 10.

cracking signing and a great coup for nufc - as well as his contribution on the football pitch Ben Arfa signing on a permanent deal is a statement of intent which can help persuade other quality players to also sign for the club as well as showing  Andy carroll that we mean business and he doesnt have to leave for the likes of spurs.

its a canny birthday present anarl - 3 points tonight will do me nicely to round off a good day  :clap2:

it never reached 500 pages :)

It really seems like we have cheated this time. We have avoided putting the hard yards and got a great signing. There's clearly something sinister going on in the background of NUFC.

Premier league physio room has his return date as Feb 26th which would be the Bolton game. If you think he got injured at the very beginning of October that would be 5 months recovery which if the break isn't a complicated one is feasible. Even if that's delayed a couple of weeks and he's back early March you'd still take that.

Will be happy if he gets some minutes towards the end of the season and is completely fit for the next one.

Hatem Ben Arfa - £5 million  :yikes:

James Milner - £27 million

Fantastic deal. As much as it pains me to say it hats off to Ashley, Llambias, Carr, Hughton, Pardew...basically everyone involved in this transfer from day one.

Puts it in a very interesting perspective.

Would be good to know exactly how these deals evolve, e.g. Carr spots, Hughton approves, Llambias seals, in order that credit could be given to those who made it happen.

We'll probably never find out, but overall I prefer this way of doing business to the soap operas we used to be involved in.
