But also wenger has told walcott that if he left football now to start training as  athletics runner then he could well become a superstar who knows so buying ben arfa would make sense as this could well be fabregas last year and nasri could slot in his role.

So Arsenal are going to buy Arfa because Walcott can run fast?

:idiot2:

Ok but 700m pounds is certainly more than enough for him to spend the little 6m pounds.

The club don't have the money though, and Ashley won't put more of his own money in for transfers. It makes perfect sense that we can't actually afford this player.

However, we shouldn't be going after players we can't afford. It's a complete waste of time. (especially for everyone checking this thread ever 13 minutes).

Although in all fairness, how many privately owned clubs can afford any transfers without the backing of their owners.

I really cannot understand how a billionaire is struggling or not wanting to help his team make a better fight of it,i mean if you were to ask every managers in the league they would tell you go for it as long as it doesn't stretch you out too much.

You can understand when it's Mike Ashley. Also he aint a Billionaire.

He's only 30 odd million short at the last count :D

Not debating that. I just can't understand why people keep posting "why won't he just pay for him?" when Ashley has already made it clear that he doesn't intend to.

Anything new from last night then? Been in the hospital all night and had surgery on my appendix this morning, can't be arsed reading 20 pages now like.

No source of any worth has confirmed a bid from Bremen and it seems they now look like signing Wesley from Santos anyway so they may not even be interested in Ben Arfa.

It's not throwing away £5 mil never to be seen again though.

If he doesn't work out sell him off at the end of the season for about £3 mil and at worst we've lost £2 mil. If he has a sensational season his value could well quadruple and he could easily be worth £20 mil at the end of the season.

Only this fat bastard does not get speculate to accumulate.

People probably thought that the statement was a bluff to try and get plyers on the cheap rather than paying inflated prices.

Can't be bothered to translate it all, but basically Bremen have offered 8 m Euro's and Marseille will accept that figure and also think Germany is a better destination for HBA anyhow. Also that he has agreed personal terms with Bremen for a four year contract 4.5 m Euro salary. Everything should be official sometime today.

Well done Mike, for once a decent player wanted to come here and once again you wouldn't get out the money.

We've already had the argument about whether our new policy is right or wrong though.

I've been through grief about that, now I've reached acceptance. It is what it is, all transfer dealings have to be viewed through the 'we're skint' lens now.

That sounds like a rehash of the original article last night.
