The College Dropout
I wish he would just f***ing sit in front of the defence like the anchorman he is It seems like it might be instruction but it's in Tiote's nature to take charge (for better or worse). If nobody wants to push forward, he'll give it a go. If nobody wants to play that tough forward ball, he'll give it a go.

Chicane
Manchester City are considering a summer move for Newcastle's Cheick Tiote. Manager Manuel Pellegrini wants a top quality defensive midfielder to bolster his squad and has been impressed by Tiote since his arrival in England. The 27-year-old Ivory Coast star is a fiery character who has drawn admiring glances from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United since signing from FC Twente in 2010. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2569244/Manuel-Pellegrini-plotting-summer-swoop-Toon-star-Cheick-Tiote-Saints-kid-Josh-Sims-impresses-United-Chelsea-Liverpool-Everton-win-race-Irish-prospect-Stephen-Kinsella-TRANSFER-COLUMN.html
Ronaldo
The media won't stop until they've linked all of our players to 'better' clubs, regardless of how good they actually are.
Ryan_Taylor
Imagine Tiote in city's midfield man. He'd be like a lost dog.
Disco
In the worst of praise of the year he'd have done a better job than Demichelis in recent games but then again so would 95% of PL midfielders.

Guest Howaythetoon
I've said it before and I'll say it again, he can be our playmaker. He is like a magnet to the ball, his team-mates, even the opposition and when he's playing well, he is as good as anyone in receiving and playing the ball. He won't thread through defence splitting passes, but he can recycle the ball brilliantly and he always offers himself to a team-mate. He was immense today along with Anita. Tooj
Your definition of playmaker is a tad different to mine.
Guest Howaythetoon
Your definition of playmaker is a tad different to mine. Aye, I'm aware of that. No other word for it though. He is clearly learning too. Today, he pulled out of a few not his to win type tackles which the old Tiote would have done and he also looked to get rid of the ball a lot quicker as well. I don't think he wasted possession once. On this form he can't be moved off the ball, and he is a real asset in terms of possession. I'm delighted he's back to his best because he's one of a few who does genuinley care about his performances, or rather he seems to pride himself on playing well. It shows in how mad he gets when he makes a mistake or how happy he gets like when he scored that disallowed goal at home to Man City.
alexf
Always good when playing that role generally speaking. He sits and allows everyone else to push forward while he mops up and controls the midfield. Impresses me how controlled he was after such a soft early yellow card, although he's had that before and rarely gets two yellows and sent off. Infact don't think he ever has, always been a straight red if memory serves.
Fenham Mag
Refs are harsh on him. Made a brilliant challenge today which was deemed a foul.
Tooj
I think that was given a foul as Gouffran ran into him from behind. That was my interpretation anyway.
