Cheick Tioté (1986-2017)

Bad news.

Please tell us all again how you think at least he's a presence while Anita and Colback hides. Haven't heard that one for a couple of weeks, we could do with a reminder.

He's also a physical being that plays football professionally for Newcastle United in central midfield. He's probably better at that position than Yoann Gouffran. Which will happen at some point.

If any other first teamer in defence or CM picks up an injury or suspension at Villa, the next game is going to be even more brutal.

It's the thing when your squad is threadbare, suddenly every knock you take hurts that bit more and you do pick up injuries from playing differently in an attempt to protect yourself.

Also when everyone knows the season is over there's no reason for anyone to play on.

Also doesnt help playing halfarsed as the season is over and not going into tackles properly or giving that extra yard.

Edit: Dammit Ian

Don't really get the talk of Tiote getting sold in the summer, is his stock high enough to merit it? I guess we will still make a profit on what we paid for him. Would rather gamble we get a new coach that isn't Carver and that coach can play him and use him where he works most effectively, hopefully his stock will then be high enough to get real money for him in January.

I know that sounds silly, if he is playing well again, why sell him? I just think he is limited, I'd rather we cashed him in for as much as we can get. His stock is low now IMO, drive it up and hopefully buy a more rounded replacement, or just bloody play Abeid.

if some russian fuckwits (or whoever) are willing to take +5m or something on him i'd snap their hands off and spend it on a prospect to replace

spend it on a prospect to replace

spend it on a prospect to replace

spend it on a prospect to replace

Rest of your post is irrelevant, he is on big wages and we have managed without him nigh on a full season. They would take anything over £4m ala Santon

Colback, average as he is, has contributed more to NUFC in the last 8 weeks than Tiote has in 3 years. Not just talking about goals, either.

Have you only watched NUFC for 8 weeks or what? Ridiculous statement.

Who's going to pay £4m+ though? He's one of those players that all the lazy ex-pro pundits seem to rate but no manager is interested in.

Can I have your username and password to this (secret?) database that contains these thoughts about who is interested in who?

Tiote has been garbage this season but there really is no need to rewrite history.

Oh great, Tiotefan99 returns.

He's shit, he's been utterly useless for the best part of 3 seasons and has hopefully played his last game in the Premier League. History suggests had any manager shown genuine interest in him he'd be long gone. One day I sincerely hope you retrieve the username and password to common sense.
