Skirge
At times some of the grief he gets on here is beyond ridiculous, I thought e had a good game today, yes there were a few moments where is I dunno thick but he was solid.
The Prophet
Good overall but had a couple of moments. The run he tried to go on was an absolute joke.

powellnufc
Him and Collo had a great partnership today. Despite his one dangerous give away, he made some vital interceptions and blocks today. Noticed a couple of times when Gervinho/RVP broke through tracked them back showing good pace and ended up winning the ball and covering well. Even a year ago he would have dived in/ sold himself giving away a pen and/or red card but instead stayed on his feet. Hopefully is finally maturing into a good quality defender

STM
Was expecting him to make a mistake every second but didn't, still not sure on him.
Ryan_Taylor
He's not bad, just doesn't inspire any confidence
Guest Stephen927
A few shaky moments but all in all I didn't feel as nervous as I usually do when the ball is near him.
AlanSkÃrare
Might be maturing a bit. Looks like he's less prone to his schoolboy/superman things. Typical "Taylor the psychopath" run and hilarious dive in the middle of the pitch first half, but apart from that he was nothing short of brilliant. Some good tackles and won every header. Hope he develops into the defender he could be.
QBG
Superb defending that break from Van Persie, if he stays as composed as he was today throughout the season we'll have a very good CB partnership.
Consortium of one
one of the better games Saylor has had in a while.
Guest axel
Great game, but the elbow thing was just embarassing by him. Funny though
KaKa
Not really a fan, but was really good today. Seemed to relish stopping Gervinho one on one. Did it a couple of times, without backing off. Good man. Still had his special moment, and really just needs to cut those out, completely. It's frightening stuff.
David Icke - Son of God
I'm not a huge fan of Taylor's but he was class today. I get the feeling it had something to do with Coloccini getting the armband and consequently being a bit more vocal. He seemed to keep Taylor in check so he didn't fuck off half way up the pitch for no reason and start waving his pissing arms about.
Ryan_Taylor
He's fucking mint at pointing though... http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Admin/BkFill/Default_image_group/2011/5/15/1305469930040/Steven-Taylor--007.jpg

Skirge
He may not be able to tell the difference between an elbow and an open-handed slap but that was the only blot on Steven Taylor's copybook as Newcastle opened their season with a goalless draw against Arsenal. A large part of his afternoon comprised of watching Arsenal execute pretty passes on the edge of the box but his timing and positioning meant opportunities for the Gunners were limited. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story/_/id/943901/team-of-the-week:-august-14,-2011?cc=5739
