buzza
I think we shouldn't worry about their height or roughness, we can mix it with any team as we've shown with wolves and everton... Get an attacking team out and put them on the back foot from the off: -------------------------Krul--------------------------- Taylor-----William--------Colo-----------Enrique Routledge---Tiote-----Barton-----Jonas --------------------Ben Arfa----------- ------------------------Carrol----------- I know Chris will swap ben arfa for Jonas and bring Nolan in....But that's MY TEAM above. olliemort
I would tempted to start Sol for Perch for the long balls though Sol at right back? No Colo at right back Why move our best CB out of his posision? Makes no sense. Makes perfect sense to me...we need more height to deal with Stokes long ball s***!Perch is our weak link,he will be targeted.Etherington is there best player so It would make perfect sense for our best defender to mark him Trying to match stoke is not the best way, use pace and skill. Yeah I agree but I dont think Campbell coming in for Perch will effect us in that respect too much
The Quichà
Really looking forward to this although it will be a tough game. I say 1-0 Alan Smith lol, no really Ben Arfa

broonalegeordie
I think these pre-match threads should have a simple poll.... win draw lose.... just to get an overall opinion from the members .....

Skirge
We do not have a good enough option at RB its why Jonas should play on the right wing he offers more protection & help to the fullback than Routledge does.

Wouldn't be a bad idea against stoke imo. Offers a lot more tracking back.
joeyt
Think for their throw ins we should use a similar tactic to which Everton used a couple of years ago. Leave 4 players up front, therefore they have to leave some players back, leaving room in the box for the keeper to move if he wants to. I hope Krul doesn't flap at the crosses or throw ins
Guest andrew
In an ideal world we should keep the same team from Everton but I would change it a bit for stoke: Krul Colo Will Campbell Jose Routledge Tiote Barton Ben Arfa Nolan Carroll Colo at right back, Will and campbell in the middle. I don't think Perch is too bad but I think we need extra height in there.
joeyt
Unless Colo has been working on his strength in the summer, I don't see him being more of a physical presence than Perch.

I think Colo has so far this season looked more willing to get physical and do the rough work.
pungen
Anyone else think Hughton is tempted to drop Carroll for Ameobi for this one? Carroll hasn't been as good the last two games as he was in the first games and Ameobi had a very good game against Chelsea.
